Re: Need some help!

So my first blood test had HCG levels of 199, then the one 4 days later had levels of 734. I am supposed to repeat the blood test in one week just to make sure the levels continue to increase. Does this sound like good news?? Was that a big enough increase to suggest a viable pregnancy?

hey mixxer - just wanted to post quickly as I saw this topic on the side of my screen. I'm sorry we haven't properly caught up yet but we will!!

They say they like to see HCG double every 2 days, though there are many stories of HCG doubling in 3 days and everything being totally fine. You're quite close to doubling every 2 days so I would say you still have reason to be hopeful.

You've been in my thoughts & prayers and I hope we can talk soon!

I am having some weird cramping and a tiny bit of spotting but I see the doctor on Thursday, so hopefully all is still ok. Thanks for all your thoughts and advice!!

What are your thoughts on how soon to announce the big news?? DH and I originally said we didn't want to say anything until the 12 week mark...but with all these 'HCG level scares' I'm wondering if it might help me to tell now and then have the support and prayers from my friends and family. Any thoughts??

Mixxer go with your gut instint. Smile/happy

The first time I fell pregnant I waited a few days to make sure thing's were progressing and then we told my parents and my 2 best friends, when I was about 6 weeks pregnant we told a couple more close family members and then basically waited until the we heard the HB for the first time before telling everyone else so just before I was 12 weeks. I needed to share our news with a few otherwise I would have burst!! This time around we actually told many people later only because it's just the way it worked out with people on holiday and such.

Congratulations, Mixxer!!! That sounds like your numbers are going up nicely!

We waited to tell until past 12 weeks (We wanted to keep it 'our' secret).

mixxer, I feel like I never properly congratulated you!! I honestly didn't see the whole first page of this until now, I just saw page 2 and thought the whole post was about the hcg numbers so I just replied about that! I could tell you have been worried so I didn't want to jump in with lots of exciting congrats if that wasn't what you were looking to hear if that makes sense ... I do apologize if it all came across the wrong way here and in our texts!!

So let me just make it clear that I am SUPER excited for you and this new little life, and wish you many many CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I really am thrilled for you and I hope we can find a time to talk soon!!!!!

About telling people, we thought about who we would want to have know in case something happened. Those were the people we told about the pregnancy, so it was still a secret to most of the world, but we had their support. And NOT that you'll need to worry about this, because this baby is going to stick, but I was so glad we did it that way with our first pregnancy, because when we did lose the baby, I absolutely needed that support. This time around we told even more people early on, more friends & family since by then they knew about the first loss and we wanted their support again, and that was good. We just made sure they knew to keep it quiet until we had everything confirmed by the 12 week ultrasound (which I had at 13 weeks!) and then we made it public.

Okay so massive congratulations and lots of hugs to you again!!! Wish we lived closer so I could see you and give you a hug for real ... but if you ever want to chat in person we can meet for lunch on a weekend halfway or something!!!
