Need some help!

Post  Mixxer on Tue Jul 28, 2009 11:01 pm

I've been having some weird things going on this month and I need some advice!

Typically, I can feel when I ovulate...middleschmirtz pain...I've felt it ever since I was 13...it normally lasts about 12 hours and then it's gone. This month, I had ovulation pain for 3 days in a row, which has never happened to me before. I also had a little bit of bleeding during ovulation. Then there was a tiny bit of spotting about 9 DPO (I thought this might be implantation??) Today is the first day of my missed period...I am NEVER late! For the past 3 or 4 days, I have been feeling a little bit of cramping, but there has been absolutely no bleeding. I was sure AF was on the way, but there's nothing. So I did a test this morning and it was definitely negative. But I have also been experiencing some mild 'ovary pain' here and there, which is also not normal for me.

-Could this be signs of an ectopic pregnancy?
-Could I be pregnant even though my test was negative? (It was one of those super senstivie tests that is supposed to be able to detect 5 days before period)
-With my first child, I tested positive the day before my period was due. Shouldn't my body react the same with another pregnancy? Or could I just not be as senstive this time?

Thanks!

If you are worried, I would go to your GP and ask for some serial Beta HCGs to be taken. I can't tell you what is going on but an ectopic is a possibility so you should seek advice. It could be nothing too but not worth ignoring!

It could be a lot of different things. Could you be having an anovulatory cycle? But I agree with emma if you are worried call you doctor. Most women aren't that sensitive to what their bodies do or don't do so make sure you have a good doctor.

Maybe since you ovulated a bit later than you thought (3 days of O-pain) and you're not really quite "late" yet. You are trying to TTC, aren't you?

Hey Mixxer,I hada VERY odd cycle not too long ago.Ilitteraly had "O" pain from about usual O time right up until AF was due on and off and then I FREAKED out because it was a couple of days later.I got AF in e end it was just a weird cycle, perhaps I didn't O but I wasnt tempoing so we'll never know.Just want toreassure you that the cramping thing CAN happen likethat,I think it might be the body TRYING to O or something getting in the way.On the other hand when I was pregnant with my latetst,I got the cramping from 5-6 DPO,I as convinced it as implantation cramps and it continued right up until I got my BFP and a week or so after even.Sorry if I'm not muh help.I would also go see doc.BUTwith an eptopic you would still get the BFP so I would try notto worrtoo much!hugs.let us know!

Thanks for all the advice. I now have no cramping but my period is still very late. I feel like I could be pregnant, but my tests still say negative.

I'm a week late and decided to take a test again today. I got a BFP!!!!! It's a pretty faint line, but it's still there! I am having some weird cramping and a tiny bit of spotting but I see the doctor on Thursday, so hopefully all is still ok. Thanks for all your thoughts and advice!!

Re: Need some help!

Saw my GP today...he wasn't at all concerned about some mild cramping and spotting. So here's to hoping it's a sticky baby! I had a blood test and find out the results tomorrow morning. Does anyone know what the blood test shows?? I know it's the HCG hormone, but can it tell if I don't have enough HCG and therefore might miscarry?

Mixxer, yes they'll test the HCG level and yes, they do like to see it above a certain number although it's somewhat subjective from what I understand (mommies and mommies-to-be chime in here!). If they repeat the test, the number *should* double in about 48hrs.

Have you told sapphire yet??

Thanks Beth. I emailed Sapphire, but haven't heard back from her yet!! I'm so anxious to tell her the news!! I'm wondering if I will just get the one blood test, or if they will give me another one in a few days?? With my first pregnancy, I just got the one. But maybe if the levels aren't high enough, they test again in a few days?? I'm a little worried, since I'm already 9 days 'late' but all my BFP tests have been very faint lines...I wonder if that means I don't have much HCG which then means this baby won't stick?? I know I should just wait until I get the results, but seriously, my mind is going crazy!!!!

Re: Need some help!

So my results of the blood test showed a level of 199...they said that was a low level. So I am to repeat the test on Monday to see if it has increased. The doctor didn't seem too concerned...he just said it was early.

Now I have to wait until Tuesday! AAAHHH! I'm going crazy!
