Hey ladies!
Hope you all are off to a good Monday!
We had a busy weekend! Saturday morning I took Owen to his very first birthday party. My friend's little girl turned one and we had a good time but it was a LONG day. When I got home I had to quickly get ready to go out!!!! My DH and I and some friends drove to Vicksburg to go to the casino and hear the band Live perform and then we gambled a little. (we basically made enough to cover the cost of our drinks at the concert!) It was fun but we were gone a really long time! I had never left Owen that long with anyone other than my DH!
We spent Sunday trying to recover!
Owen and I are getting ready to head out to the farmer's market for some fresh veggies! I love this time of year! I've been craving summer squash!!!!!

Cherry - can't wait to hear about the babies! I'm so glad your dog is ok too!!!!!!

ittle update, but not much to add---

She's now in the back being prepped for the c-section since noon CST. So, I don't know how long it takes to prep and then deliver them, but it can't be too much later now. One of my cousins is going to call me and let me know when she knows. And of course, I'll keep you all posted. Here are a couple pics of her and her pregnant glory.





Well, I guess I can't them from work, so I'll send some when I get out.

LMAO. I'm so sorry. I should have mentioned that I put them up in the picture thread. I feel mighty dumb right now too.

Another subject, I am so mad at my mom right now. I told her something and said for NOT to say anything. Well, she blabbed about it to my brother and sister and who knows else, and my messy cousin overheard her. And sent me a message on myspace about it. My mom does not do well when put on the spot. I'm like so pissed, I could punch something. But, the whole situation is dumb and pointless on the surface, it's the principle of it that has me mad.

Story:
My sister lives with us cause she sucked so bad in Louisiana-stealing, lying, sneaking out, bad grades, etc. Well, after my flew back to LA from bringing her here, my sister reveals that she has a camera that she got for a Xmas present from a boy back home. I knew she was lying the minute she told me where she got it. A)I'm not a dummy B)not too many boys will give a girl who he 1)not serious with 2)not sleeping with 3)girl period, a Kodak digital camera. C)the camera does not look new enough for Kodak. So, whatever. I let it go cause I knew I didn't have proof, and well, frankly, she got away with from LA with the theft, if there is one(more than likely). Well, fast forward a few months to May, and my mom and I are talking on the phone about Candace's progress, and I happen to mention the camera. Oops! What camera my mom wants to know. So, I spill the beans since I've put my foot in my mouth. I told her not to say anything cause well, there is no proof. She said ok. But, that wasn't the end of it. I just checked my myspace page and my messy cousin sends me a nice message about this camera. What color and what megapixel is it? I immediately call my mom, cause I'm like WTF. She wasnt' suppose to say anything. She goes around in circles about how my cousin must have overheard her asking for prayers for my sister, blah, blah, blah. I was like , but I told you not to say anything in the first place. The bottom line is, if my mom hadn't opened her big a@@ mouth, no one could have overheard her say anything. Now, I don't trust that things I say to her stay in confidence. I feel like she picks and chooses what she keeps between her and I. OK, rant over, but I'm still pissed. I know that I have to call later and apologize to her for hanging up in her face(she's still my mom. )

hey i just wanted to post cause im so excited for her, my sister in cali FINALLY got approved for her surgery!!! it took THIS FREAKIN LONG! omg ive felt so bad for her! but now that its approved, they got her in super fast! so shes scheduled to get her actual surgery a week from friday! omg a week from tomorrow! i hope it goes well. im just so happy that she can get off all these pain pills and try and live a normal life again.

oh, and charles has got someone interested in buying his car! YAY!! ill be sooooo glad to see that stupid POS gone lol!

only other new thing with me is that im covered in either poison oak or ivy and im miserable. its all over my face, on my eyelids, in my ears, then on my arms and legs and all. its awful. i have a dr appt today at 2:00 to make sure it really is poison ivy or oak and to see what the dr can do to make sure it doesnt get in my eyes and mouth cause that would surely land me in the hospital, not only am i preggers, but im allergic to it and it spreads all over me like wildfire.

mscherry, I hope things are okay now with your mom - I can see why you were frustrated.

I wanted to make sure you all knew that I am leaving tomorrow and won't be home until late on August 8. I'll probably be able to get online a bit while I'm away, but I don't know how much, so if you don't hear anything that's why! I'll likely be able to get on facebook a bit more often, so if anything, many of you can see me there.

The first 2 weeks we'll be in Toronto with my husband's family, who are throwing me a baby shower this Saturday!! So thoughtful of them. Toronto is about a 4-hour flight away so we don't see them often and won't see them again til after the baby comes. Toronto is also very hot & humid most of the time in the summer, AND the city is on a garbage strike right now. Great. We also have a wedding to go to while we're there, one of DH's cousins who he grew up being really close to. They have an adorable 1-year-old who we will get to baby-sit overnight on the wedding night

The second 2 weeks just DH and I are going to the Canadian maritimes - Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick. I've never been there but it's supposed to be gorgeous and we have some cool places booked. A really nice hotel for a couple nights in Halifax, a private cottage for 3 nights on the coast of Cape Breton and another cottage in PEI, plus a handful of B&B's along the way. I am REALLY excited for a relaxing vacation with DH!!!!

I have updates from my doctor's today but I'll post that in pregnancy since i have rambled on enough

Nika, what's your sister's surgery for? If you said, I missed it or have forgetton.

Poison Ivy SUCKS! I'm pretty allergic to it too and end up going to the emergency clinic for a shot and pills....except it's prednisone and I'm not sure how "safe" that is for pregnancy. Good ol' Caladryl lotion helps dry it up. I like the Hot Water treatment too -- run the shower/bath water as hot as you can stand it and put the poison ivy area under the running water for as long as you can take it. It's like sweet torture and will itch like crazy...but the feeling disappears quickly and it won't itch for hours. Others claim icing it works better, but the hot water works for me. Once it dries up, Gold Bond Medicated Lotion worked well for me later to help heal the skin and reduce the itching.
