Nika, what's your sister's surgery for? If you said, I missed it or have forgetton.

Poison Ivy SUCKS! I'm pretty allergic to it too and end up going to the emergency clinic for a shot and pills....except it's prednisone and I'm not sure how "safe" that is for pregnancy. Good ol' Caladryl lotion helps dry it up. I like the Hot Water treatment too -- run the shower/bath water as hot as you can stand it and put the poison ivy area under the running water for as long as you can take it. It's like sweet torture and will itch like crazy...but the feeling disappears quickly and it won't itch for hours. Others claim icing it works better, but the hot water works for me. Once it dries up, Gold Bond Medicated Lotion worked well for me later to help heal the skin and reduce the itching.

beth, you probably forgot cause i posted sooo long ago, but the insurance company has drawn the process out as long as they can, its for her back. she has a ruptured and herniated disc in her lower neck/upper back and it happened at work, so shes been out of work and the workers comp people have been AWFUL to deal with, but she now got her surgery approved and scheduled! its still going to be a long hard recovery, but at least now she can try to recover instead of just staying high on pain pills in order to fight the pain. all this happened way back before i went to cali to visit, and thats what promped the visit on such short notice. none of us realised that it was going to take months to get the surgery!!!

and i went to the dr, turns out what i have on my arm is poison ivy and what i have on my face is an allergic reaction to something else, but we dont know what!! argh!! i havent tried any new foods, soaps, detergents, clothes, anything! i cant for the life of me think of what i would be reacting to and just on my face?!??! my dr told me to take claritin 10 mg a day for a week and see if it helps at all, and if it doesnt help to call and she will give me prednisone. the only reason she didnt just do that was because while it is safe during pregnancy, its a steroid and will help the baby put weight on, and ive already had one round due to my asthma, and god only knows if the asthma will act up again meaning i will need more. so she said that while she will give it to me for this she would rather exhaust our other options first just so that we can save the steroids for later use if need be without my baby getting massive lol. shes already on the bigger side but she said that if it gets any worse or my face swells up to call immediately and she will get me something to take care of it. but seriously, this is miserable lol, my whole face is all itchy and my eyes burn and what are the odds of having an allergic reaction to god knows what on my face, and getting poison ivy on my arm at the exact same time?!?! oye. lol

'what are you doing for Christmas,what with the economy,are any of you making gifts this xmas,I know we have some talented ladies here.

How are situations with your famlies,I know several of us have had issues in the past and still with the whole 'family' thing.

Are you all still working? Are you planning to if you're not

are you doing anything creative 'writing .singing,painting,making....anything... let us know

I know some of you are or will be moving soon....tell us more ( I know about Georgis coz she posted) but I think Tiff has just found a house would love to know more and maybe see some pics?

Any new pets? I know you all have been holding out on me so get sharing! I will start first! Love you all! xxx

Ok,so time for some updates people!

It's been too long and we are all neglecting this a little!LOL

So,my questions for you all are;
'what are you doing for Christmas,what with the economy,are any of you making gifts this xmas,I know we have some talented ladies here.

I dont think I will be making any present this yeafr except perhaps some photos/portraits etc...otherwise I have seen soem really nice stuff in CVS ($10-$20 range) like milkshake makers (for hubby) smokeless ashtrays for MIL LOL),also barnes anoble have sales on games,books and all kind of really cute and cool things! How are situations with your famlies,I know several of us have had issues in the past and still with the whole 'family' thing. Well,MIL has just taken night shifts at the hospital so her schedual is even more messed up,we are trying (this to say I have offered) to get Grandmas to come here and stay in our spare room for an undefined amount of time.I am not thrilled about this but,it will surely be a way to get them to move closer,they (MIL and gma) are SO unhappy and have no one there,nothing to keep them,we were gonna suggest they rent the house out and rent on here,MIL can find a nursing Job here in Charlotte that she would surely like WAY better than where she is now.

Are you planning to if you're not, My immigration papers are coming on,we're just trying to get documents together and things but almost there,I think by late spring/early summer I should be able to work/travel etc...strictly speaking I should get my work permit within a couple of months! I plan to keep writing /singing at home but find something between now and then which brings in a little income,preferably from home but if not I would love to get any kind of job,maybe at barnes and noble,something like that,just to bring in some cash,have a bank account and build some credit! Things are moving forawrd and upward despite the few setbacks we have had!

We are hoping to rent this place for another year when the lease runs out in march...shouldnt be a prob.and after that we are going to buy some land a little further north and build a log cabbin kit house on it.We have seen al prices adn stuff.You can get lonas for it! So excited to have our own place,grow our own produce and have some breathing room,although we have met some wonderful people have and our neighbours ROCK!

I'll post an update on my life and family.

We are moving back to Louisiana in February. DF is not too thrilled, but I can't stay in Idaho much longer, it's driving me nuts being away from my family. Neither of us has jobs lined up, which has DF pulling at his nonexistent hair. I think we'll have an easier time landing jobs once we get there. My mom has offered to let us stay there for as long as we need to. I am planning on getting a teaching job there, and he'll probably do law enforcement.

My exhusband finally agreed on the latest proposal that me and the mediator came up with at my last session. He'll get every Thanksgiving, we'll split the Xmas break(rotating who gets Xmas), the first couple summers he'll get Jadah for 2-2 week visits, then up it to 2-3 week visits, then by the time she's 12, a full 6 week visit. I think Jadah can do this schedule, cause she'll be able to come home in between his visits. Also, he has to enroll her in competitive gymnastics for the time she's there. He doesn't know we're moving back to LA. Once everything is finalized with the custody/visitation, and we know exactly when we're going and some more concrete information on jobs and stuff, that's when I'll tell him. Once the shock wears off, he'll realize that it's better for him(and me) being closer. Having to come out of pocket for that many plane tickets in a year for her visitation would suck.

Pregnancy is progressing fine.

I still hate my job.

We still have Neka, our puggle, no new pet additions.

Xmas will be a light affair this year since we're moving in 3 months. Though with Jadah's light wish list, we should be able to get everything on it. Jayden won't be getting much since she just had a nice birthday. Jadah's birthday is coming up on Wednesday. We got her a 12' trampoline that she(and Jayden) LOVES!!

We don't usually buy gifts for any other family members except our moms. But, I am going to buy for my niece, step niece, and fake niece(me and my friend have kids by brothers, but aren't with the brothers!!)

And that's my life in a nutshell!!

Angel, what's your book about? I'm wanna hear!

I'll kinda lump stuff together here for my responses.....I don't really anticipate us doing much different for Christmas. I put money in a Christmas Club account every week so that is the bulk of my Christmas spending money. Hubby needs to start giving me money for his family's gifts though. I have made some necklaces for our two older nieces, hubby's sisters, my brother's wife, and my administrative support person here at work. So yes, I did get creative!

Job is fine. Boss and I have actually had a very good year which has allowed me to get out of credit-card debt and pay off some money my husband loaned me. I of course hope our stream of good sales and big commissions holds up, but even if it slacks off I'll still have more available money since I'm not paying off debt. My husband is laid off though as of Oct. 30th. Too early in the work season for that. We like him to keep working until at least Thanksgiving, perferably 2nd week of December, weather permitting, as always. Mostly we need his work hours to pay for our health insurance. If he's short hours, we have to make up the difference.

Hubby talks his company into loaning him a bulldozer. Yeah, I don't know he managed that either! So for the past week he's been working at our other property with it, mostly building parts of our motocross (dirtbike!) track, but also knocking down some dead trees and digging up stumps. Part of land can get quite wet so he's hampered a bit there -- too muddy. Depending how long we get to keep the dozer, the house out there might get demolished this winter. Yay!

I'm planning on opening a "store" on artfire.com. I've been waiting on a bit of help, but I think one way or another, I'm getting the first jewelry pieces listed this weekend. I'm anxious to move forward with it...particularly since the holiday shopping season will be starting soon.

Beth,my book,well I am still adjusting but basically it's about how there's pretty much 'already' a cure for pretty much every disease and or condition but NOBODY want's to hear it and or prefers to listen to drs or pharmeceutical companies who have NO intention of letting anyone else speak because of course it's a multi billion dollar industry,I just have to find a way to say that people are interested in and open to I guess.

In a nutshell...

I am freaking out about my presentation and dissertation defense Monday. I will be leaving for Detroit tomorrow and meet a few of my old friends their, defend Monday, come back late in the evening and teach Tuesday morning at 9am. Ugh, I am so tired of being so busy all the time. So looking forward when that doctorate over. Too bad I won't be able to get completely drunk to celebrate...sparkling juice it is, lol.

Christmas will be at the ILs this year. Not too many gifts, just some thoughtful ones and ones with Kian, lol. Thanksgiving it'll be just us at home and me enjoying having some more time and only one full-time job, lol.

Family is doing fine. Everybody wants me to have more time, though.

Pregnancy is going fine so far - don't really have much time to think about it.

Snoopy - our cat -- is doing great.

Can't wait to get starting on scrapbooking and knitting again come next weekend - cause I will so do something for myself.

You guys, I'm horrible. I never check this thread, and I need to. I just read a bit, I can see what everyone else is up to. Holidays are just around the corner aren't they??

We are okay. My husband is still at his job which he hates, but a little money is better than none. We are moving from our apartment to a 3 bedroom detached house this monday, November 16th. I am so excited but also stressed, as I am totally overwhelmed with all the packing to be done. I'm starting on the master bathroom today, I am going to clean it spick and span, then use it as the storage room for all the boxes and such. We'll use the hall way bathroom for the next 5 days until we move out.

Gearing up for baby number 2, but need to make sure health insurance will be in order before we get pregnant. I am still on a mission to lose more weight before getting knocked up

DF and I are trying to make our relationship work and adjusted to 2 kids now and he's waiting to get a vasectomy done (consultation on the 20th).

My hair has completely fallen out since having Jasper. It regrew while I was pregnant with him and it grew back everywhere on my body (not fully and thick just in most areas). So I went to talk to my NP and because it grows back during pregnancy, I must be missing something, so this coming Tuesday I'm doing some fasting blood work. She said I won't know what I'm getting tested for until I get there because she was going to discuss it with the doctor. I soooo hope I finally get some answers!!!

Could it be lack of progesterone, doesn't progesterone massively increase in pregnancy?

if so, you could get some natural progesterone cream :-)
