Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
ok i know i never post here, like ever so sorry to just intrude with a selfish post! lol!!
anyways, i called my sister in california yesterday to wish her a happy birthday, it was her 25th birthday yesterday! and she was happy i called since she doesnt have much out there but her BF (her and my other sister havent spoken in months, they are fighting and both VERY stubborn, so who knows when that will end) but then she told me that she recently ruptured and herniated a disc in her neck/back and after going to the dr and getting tests run and everything they said they will have to do complicated surgery to repair/replace it where they go into her neck and take a graft and then rebuild and repair the disc. its very complicated and shes worried because of the nature of it, if the dr makes one wrong move she could end up paralyzed afterward. im also very worried about her just because she is feeling so lonely and she has said that she would love to see me again and meet kaydance before the surgery just in case something goes wrong. she isnt going to get the surgery more than likely for at least a week or two since she is having to deal with insurance and workers-comp claims (it happened at work) but they have her seeing a pain specialist now to help with all the nerve pain until she can get the procedure done. i am just asking you all if you dont mind to keep her in your prayers that the surgery goes ok and she has a speedy recovery!
then, i talked to my office manager this morning (she does our finances too lol, we are really bad with money...) and she has given me the green light to buy a ticket (kaydee flies free being under 2 yrs old) and the ok to take time off work. so if all goes according to plan i may be going to california with kaydee next week!! i just have to make a few phone calls to make sure ive got a place to stay and all while im there, i had a place for when we were going to go in july, but the trip got cancelled so i will see if the offer still stands and its not to intrusive of me to come such short notice. then i just have to book the flight, and start getting everything packed up and ready to go! ill keep you all updated, but i may be MIA next week if everything goes right and im across the country!

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
Nika, so sorry to hear about your sister's surgery. I will definitely keep her in my thoughts and prayers! Hopefully everything will go fine!
I am glad that you and Kaydee get to go to California (of course for the good weather) and to see your sister before the surgery. Enjoy your trip to Cali!

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
I have been gone, it feels forever.
Mum,
I'm sorry about your online friend. Her husband and children are in my prayers.
Nika,
I'm sorry to hear about your sister. I'm glad you're able to go and see her with Kaydance. Have a great visit. Your sister is also in my prayers.
Update on me. Life has been a big hectic blur. Work is much busier than it had been before I left, so it's been tiring me out. I finished school on the 6th, so will participate in our commencement ceremony on May 16th. Jarelle and Jayden went to New Jersey for a week and a half to visit his family. His grandfather died while he was there(he was warned right before he left, so he was prepared, kind of). Jayden is having a ball, he says. I've never been away from her for more than a day, so I thought it would be hard, but I've been too busy to sit and mope. They come back this Sunday.
I've been working out in the yard to get my flower and my food garden ready. Turning ground over "from scratch" is hard work. Well, it feels good to be back. I will try not to get so busy that I don't come on here and "hang out" with my friends. Take care.

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
Nika, sorry about your sister but California sounds exciting! Didn't know your summer trip was cancelled.
Mscherry, a garden? You're ambitious! My parents ALWAYS have a big garden, but I just can't get into it. So what you planting?
Angel, already commented on the non-pregnancy....congrats! LOL!
Hubby will probably be going back to work on the 27th. Wa-hoo! A bit later than we wanted, but all good. He gets laid-off every winter so this is nothing new and nothing we don't plan for. I WISH WISH WISH he'd get my bathroom remodel complete before he starts work again, but *sigh* he's made so many promises regarding that over the years.....
Been a bit of a rut again myself. I just feel like I'm plodding along, one day to the next, just waiting for something (yeah you know what) to happen, and then trying to move on when it doesn't. I hate my house; it's always in utter shambles and hubby never seems to complete projects, which forces us to leave things in strange places because they don't have a home.....like my so-called medicine chest which sits in a plastic box covered with a towel in the hallway. Or the shop vac that's been living in my living room. Gawd, it just stresses me to have such a mess and it's been this way FOREVER. And I can't seem to find the time (or the focus) to do anything more than I already do. And I'm not even doing the basic cleaning and stuff very well lately. I've been finding it very hard to focus on anything. I literally had to set the kitchen timer last weekend to try to force myself to stay on task without flittering away to do something else. I've been having a hard time focusing on work too. Oh geez, here I am posting on a forum instead of working. It's just been a struggle for a while now and I'm not sure how to fix it or what's wrong. *sigh*

Good luck on the job search Toffee.
Nika - how is it going with your sister? I don't know if you posted somewhere else about it...... I seem to habitually lose threads like this, then redicover them later.
Speaking of threads I was trying to find where I posted about the health issues I had been going thru and I couldn't find it. To make a long story short I have been miserable all year since my gall bladder surgery. I fianlly discovered one of my main problems was the GI system valve near my gall bladder was 'stuck' after my surgery and not fuctioning right, causing most of my problems. The chiropractor has been doing accupuncture for that, and right after the first treatment almost all of those problems were totally gone. yay.
He also had me do a saliva test for hormone levels. You have to take collect samples 4 times throughout the day on the 19th-20th day of your cycle and then send them off to a lab. We just got the results back yesterday, and there are several hormones that I am extremely deficient in. One is the cortisol level, which they graphed and it totally mirrored the fatigue cycle I was facing every day. The results also said the low hormones could be a result of adrenal system fatigue (from too much stress too long). I looked up symptoms of that on the internet, and there was a whole shopping list of all the problems I had been having. I have a hormonal cream and some supplements to try to deal these deficiencies. I know it has only one day, but I could tell my energy had not totally bottomed out at noon like it has been lately. I will have to give it some time and see what happens in the long run. Good news is I am starting to feel like a normal human being again!

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
Oh DM,I am so glad that things are looking up for you healthwise!I was sad to read before that you were feeling so off on so many levels.I am also glad you are using accu and supplements rather than getting a presciption and just taking that.I believe that using accu, natural things to fine tune your body is the best way,if you can fix the natural meridians and chakras, which ever way you want to look at it.I thik it's best to try and fix the source rather than put a band aid over a gaping wound.Anyway...so glad things are finally on the up!Hope it continues!

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
awww DM im glad your finally figuring out how to feel better!
well my sister is still fighting with the workers comp insurance BS but she is getting somewhere now. STILL waiting to schedule her surgery, i think its rediculous that instead of helping you when you need it that workers comp will try to find any way out of doing what they need to. she should have had the procedure done by now! at least they have her working with a pain management specialist and have her on leave from work now. she seems to be doing well actually given all the circumstances! shes taking it easy at least, thats good.
and in other news, my other sister in california's baby girl is (was
) due this sunday, in two days, and she was born last night! im so happy for her. she said it was VERY quick, she got to the hospital with less than an hour before she was born, didnt even have time for drugs like she wanted
hehehe. but im glad everyone is healthy and happy! she was 7lbs 14 oz, her biggest baby yet! (sky and ash were both 7lbs 2 oz!). i cant wait to see pics!

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
dolly's momma, just a coincidence I noticed....my cousin had her gall bladder out recently after seeing her chiropractor for back pain. He took x-rays and discovered her gall bladder was full of stones! Funny how they can help diagnose things.
Anyway, acupuncture (mine is a chiropractor as well!) has worked wonders for me for other hormonal issues, so I really hope you see the same results.
What type of hormonal cream are you using?
24P -- congrats on being an aunt again!

toffee, good luck with the interviews, I know you have a lot coming up!! Keep us posted okay?! You'll do great.
DM, that's really great you've been able to get so many answers. Hormone levels are crazy things and I'm glad that it seems you will be feeling better in no time (and already are starting to feel better!)

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
Nika - Congrats on your niece. Hope they stop jerking your sister around with her back - that is awful.
BethG - I have a progesterone cream and a DHEA supplement, as well as another supplement that deals with stress.
Angel - thanks. My husband scoffs at some of the things I do but I look at it as the chinese have been practicing these things for thousands of years - they have to have value. I am not about to tell him the way I discovered the gi issue was a person who is an 'intuative' told my mom she knew what my problem was - and hey, she was right. Which is more than I can say for either dr I was bouuncing back and forth between.

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
Our dog, Smalls, almost died on Friday. If Jadah and her friend hadn't asked to go into the backyard and play with him, he just might have died. They came running to the front yard saying his eyes were red. I figured they were like pink or something. Nope, his irises were blood red. I made them stay back cause I don't know what a rabid dog looks like, but wasn't taking chances. Come to find out, he had wound his chain around the post so tight he was choking himself to death and couldn't unwind himself. I had to take him off the chain and walk him for like 20-30 minutes for his eyes to go back to like a light pink. He's made a full recovery, but when I think of how close we came to losing him I shutter. I mean, we were going to Jadah's school carnival for like 3 hours, and wouldn't have gone back there until we got back to feed him. If Jadah had found him dead, I think that would have traumatized my sweet pea. But, thank God, he's back to his energetic mischievous self.

Re: How you Doin?Whats New?
I should have twin baby girl cousins being born today!!
My cousin's wife is scheduled to have her c-section of her twins girls today. This is so special for them(and us) cause they've tried for years, she even almost died with one of her miscarriages. They spent a lot of money to aritificially impregnate her to no avail. My cousin is like the perfect candidate for fathership(for lack of a better phrase). He always knew he wanted a big family. Then last fall we found out she was pregnant with twins. She almost had them too early a couple months ago, but complete bedrest and weekly progesterone shots have carried her full term.
I will update when I know something.
