thats weird, we put lotion on julie when she was one day old after her first sponge bath in the hospital, as the nurses there instruct and have been putting lotion on her ever since... same with kaydee! did your dr say why? or is the spot something other than dry skin, cause then the lotion could irritate it or something?

Audrey had a dry spot on her leg since she was born and she still does. The lotion never helped. I still haven't put any lotion on Jasper.

I never used lotion on Owen, of course, we live in a pretty humid area and dryness is just not a big issue.
How long do they want you to wait?

well she has a really good complexion just some flaky skin what is normle in new borns i just found it strange that she told me "dont use lotion just yet because you never know how they will react" i use Jonson baby lotion on my nephew as young as a week. I dont see why it would be a problem seen as the lotion and the baby soap are both lavender bed time bath and she had no problem me using the soap Confused

I'm sure she would be fine.... maybe just try a little in one spot to make sure it doesn't irritate her skin.....

Lucy has been getting baby lotion daily since she was born. We live in the desert, but it has never bothered her a bit. I have used that Johnson's bedtime lavender, and I mainly use baby magic. It seems to clear up any little scurfy spots right away.
