See you over there soon Mum.

Well Addy came down with a runny nose today. She doesn't seem to be feeling bad and isn't running a fever but she is so snotty. I am praying that she doesn't get sick.

It has gotten so quiet in here. I guess everyone is slowly moving over to the 6 month thread. So I caved in and got sone pics done in a studio at the request of my sister. But the deal was that she had to come with me and help. It took two tries because the first visit was during his nap time and he just wasn't having any part of it. So luckily she lived nearby and we ate took a cat nap and tried again. Oh the pictures are so adorable. I figure it means that I have some Christmas presents out of the way. He even sat up on his own for some of them. Isaac is starting to get a little peach fuzz on his head but he still has a huge indent from being squished in me so I am hoping that will still smooth itself out. How is everyone doing?

Re: Mums of babies 0-6 months

Post  dolly's momma on Thu Nov 20, 2008 11:29 am

I am pretty frazzled, getting ready for our trip. Usually I have a day of hyper, this time it is a whole week. So much to do, so little time.

Lucy is doing great. She is a huge social butterfly lol. She is trying to pull herself up to a sitting position. She turns over ver quickly now, and the other day with a little assistance she 'commando crawled' across her changing table. In her stroller and high chair she will lean forward so she can look around the side to see what is happening back behind her.

Last Saturday morning she threw up about 5 times, and was a strange greyish green color. We took her to the urgent care. Of course while in the waiting room she demamnded a bottle, and then by the time we got in to see the doctor she was totally back to normal, showing off, talking to him, and batting her eyes at him. He must have ''PARENTS OVERREACT'' on her charts. I am just glad she was feeling better. She was not as hungry as usual for a couple days, but is totally back to normal now.

Her weight at 5 months is 14 pounds, 12 ounces.

Ok, I know I should have had her strapped in the chair while she was sitting next to me while I was working at my desk. And here is why -- she slouched like this in about 2 minutes flat. Until I got my cell phone out to take the film she was right against my side kicking at me like that, so she wouldn't have fallen if she scooted down farther.

Post  Lou Lou on Sun Nov 23, 2008 12:06 am

hey girls!
I'm back! I am feeling better - I just have four holes in my stomach!!!
Of course, one of them is right where I hold Owen to feed him or rock him to sleep.
Hopefully things will heal quickly.

Owen is doing great. He is sitting up on his own although I put the boppy around him if I am not going to stay with him on the floor. He is still scooting around but not actually crawling yet. He just rocks back and forth and I can tell he is trying to put it all together! It's so cute to watch!

He is still not sleeping at night and I just don't know what to do about it. Last night he was up four times. We are letting him cry for 20 minutes but we almost always have to go in and pat him for a few minutes.

I gave him real mashed banana tonight and he wasn't crazy about the texture at first but ate it all!

Hope you all are doing well!

Lou Lou - it's nice to see you back! I hope your feeling 100% soon. I hear you on Owen not sleeping - Kian is still not sleeping at 7 months, waking 2-3 times and the crying it out does not seem to do anything - it became part of his sleep routine now, but doesn't seem to improve anything! Confused

Hi to all the other ladies and LOs! Smile/happy

Hi guys!Loulou, great to hear your feeling better and heling up.we've missed you!Well done Owen forsitting up and rocking. He will eventually sleep through the night it wont last forever. Smile/happy

skylar,

I am sorry to hear that kian isSTILL not sleeping. It's s eaxusting isn't It.I really feel for the ladies who don't get any sleep.

as for my little lady, she has recent;y been waking a few times a night instead of just one.Not sure why this is,perhaps teething and wanting to comfort herself with nursing.Either way, makes me feel groggy the next day.Her second bottom tooth is poking through now as well. Her first one only just came through about a week ago.Poor girl, still at least it gets it all out of the way in one go I suppose.Today will be day 5 that I give her some rice cereal once a day,I mix it with water and she is still mostly just spitting it out.I do find though that if I leave the spoon in her mouth rather than just dumping the cereal in,that she will suck on the spoon and eat more that way.I think she likes it but is just not sure what to do with the food once it's in her mouth LOL

She is also up on all fours these past fe days, rocking,it's so funny to watch,I will have to take a video of it.I also need to buy some 6-9 month onesies as she is stretching the toes on all her 3-6 month ones already. She weighed 17lb 4oz last check and was 25.5 ins long! She is a big girl with long legs and just went up to a size 3 diaper! I am confident she is large for her size/age but she is quite healthy and happy so I am not worried!

Hope everyone else (left here) is ok!

Lucy also seems to do better with the cereal if you hold the spoon in her mouth, it keeps it from all coming back out (at this point she thinks it is a game --- thanks to her daddy...).

Try adding some bananas - some fruit and cereal on the spoon seems to be much yummier than cereal alone for Lucy. I usually put a couple scoops of the fruit right on top of the cereal and then just scoop the spoon thru both....

Well Addy seems to be almost over her cold. Unfortunately, me and my husband both have it now.

I can't believe she is already 6 months. She is sitting all on her own and pushing up onto all 4s. She is eating bananas and avocado now too.

And the most exciting thing...she has slept through the night for the last 3 nights. Mum of JJ shared a sleep program with me that has been great. It was hard the first night but she improved every night since and by night 6 she slept through. Yeah!!!!

Well I am off to the next group now.

Angel that is adorable. We just like to barrel roll in this house. He rolls from one room to another while running into things on the way. He will move around in his walker and stands by toys but has shown no signs of crawling anytime soon.
