Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
I feel like I never have time to get on here anymore and I miss you all so much. But I am really trying to get the bathroom finished and get the kitchen at least planned out before Easter. I just have this feeling like if we are ever going to move we need to do it now and take advantage of some better prices.
I am so sorry to hear about everyone's stomach problems. Mine tends to get a little funky with hormones going up and down. It always has done that but it is way more noticeable now and I feel like it gets passed onto Isaac. Maybe you are onto something with the probiotics though. Has anyone tried yogurt doesn't it have some of that good bacteria too?
LouLou, your DH is crazy. I consider it a good day when I can keep Isaac happy and get decent dinner on the table. If I get cleaning or a project snuck in during a nap well that just makes it a very good day. I feel like there are always baby toys strewn about. In fact I will crawl around putting them away and he crawls around and takes it right back out. If I just let them lay out he acts like he has nothing to play with. You need to take a day when DH is home and leave for a few hours. Even if it is just to groceries in the house or to get a hair cut just make sure you stay out for a few hours and come home and see what he has to say. If you want to be really mean ask him to get a few things done while you are out and see how he does.
Ok well I need to go get a baby gate up before my guy wakes up. He has learned how to motor up the stairs and the pressure gate we had that was supposed to not ruin the walls is messing up the wall so I am going to install one with hardware. At least then I will only have a few holes to patch.

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
OK. Let me see if I can catch up!
Tiff - Congrats on LM reaching 11 months and sorry to hear she didn't sleep last night. I know it's frustrating but hang in there!
Chris - That little Emy is a long skinny one! Owen is shorter AND heavier! I so wish we could get all of these babies together! I'd love to see how they all compare! Are you planning to continue nursing after 12 months? I wish now I had kept going.....
sometimes!!!!
DM - that's really interesting about the hormone levels. It makes me feel a little more normal.... you know?
Momma Bear - It's good to see you around! We have a set of stairs but I keep Owen gated from the largest part of our house so he has never even seen the stairs! (they lead to a bonus room we don't use)
Well, not too much going on here. I'm just trying to keep my house clean and dinner on the table. (HA!) I think I have convinced my DH to take a little vacation this summer. We will probably wait until the end of the summer but I'm excited just the same! We didn't do anything last summer so it's time!!!!! I think we will go to the beach for a few days! We haven't been anywhere together as a family yet so it should be fun...... right?!
OK. I'm gonna finish watching Law and Order now!

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
DM- that is interesting about the hormone levels. I wonder if that could have anything to do with my tummy issues???
Mommabear- I am super glad to see a post from you. I understand how busy things get when you are planning a move! Isaac is such a cutie!!!! We miss you as well!!! I have tried yogurt, but to be honest yogurt alone doesn't contain enough pro-biotics to replenish my good bacteria, I am really lacking in the good bacteria department. If your good bacteria level is already good, then I think that organic whole yogurt with live active cultures is enough... but it's always a good idea to take a more concentrated tablet form of acidophilus.
Chrisb- Emy is so tall! She is so cute, I can't believe she is days from turning one year old!
Lou Lou- I think that a vacation to the beach sounds like a lovely idea for your family. It really helps to get away and have a change of scenery. However... I do agree with Mommabear that you could totally do with some time out for only you.
My DH and I just got in an argument this morning over the fact that he is a full time student at the moment but he does not help me around the house at all and he is looking for a job right now. Having him home so much makes the house get messier a million times faster. He doesn't seem to offer me naps, or bathe the baby, or feed the baby, or offer to do the dishes ever. I am worn out. He thought about it all day today and realized that I was right. He told me that this week he will watch the baby while I go out shopping for some new clothes. I'll be hitting Ross or Walmart of course, but hey new clothes are new clothes. I bought new clothes after I had the baby last year, but those are really baggy now and making me look like a frumpy dumpy mom.
LM figured out how to open cupboards today. I spent all day freaking out and running into the kitchen to get her to stay out of the cupboard under the sink which has cleaning supplies in it. DH bought some baby proofer things for the cupboards and is going to install them tomorrow.

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
I'm so glad your DH saw the light!!!! I guess it's nice to know that I'm not alone in this department! My DH DOES help a good bit with the baby. He watches Owen for me at least once a week so I can have dinner with a friend or go shopping and I NEVER have to take Owen to the grocery with me - I don't even have to ask him - it's just an understood. BUT - he has only bathed Owen 3 or 4 times and he just wont help around the house! But it's ok..... I'm getting it all together!
I wish my clothes were getting baggy!!! No such luck over here! I have the best intentions to lose weight but I have found lately that my way of unwinding at the end of the day involves some form of chocolate!
I have gotten some really cute clothes recently at Walmart! I have a friend that bought this really cute shirt for about $65 and I found one that looks JUST like it at Walmart for $12!!!!! Have fun shopping! You will have to let us know what you find!

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
With this stomach stuff going on I have been so bloated my clothes are pretty discouraging right now. So I am not even going to think about it. But last night I think I had a sudden idea what might be contributing to my problems....Ok last fall I was going to have that essure procedure, and then we found out I am allergic to nickel and that ended that because the insert had a nickel alloy. The other day at the gastroentenonologist's office I was sitting there waiting looking at my ct scan report when I noticed that there was a surgical clip in me from my gall bladder. It bothered me but I couldn't figure out why, and then days later it finally struck me. Guess what a common alloy in those clips is? Yup, nickel. That would explain why everything is staying irritated....anyways the surgeon will be in his office tomorrow afternoon so I will find out for sure if my clip has it or not.
Tiff that is great about your husband. Mine seems to think I lead a life of leisure, no matter what I say or do. And now that my mom went home I have the two older kids home for two weeks for spring break. I need a vacation lol. I think hormones definitely could be contributing, even if they aren't the only cause of everyone's problems. Probiotics are great. I was on them when I was pregnant.
Tonight the husband went to get the kids from their r.e. class while Lucy and I sat in the front seat of the truck jabbering. Lucy figured out how to make the window go up all by herself. She got confused when I lowered it back down, but she keput putting it up very proudly lol.

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
Hey ladies! Yes, I am still alive, but I have been soooo busy that I haven't had time to post. This will be a pretty selfish post, just to give you an update on us; then I will go back to reread your messages and reply personally.
I had that telephone job interview about a week and a half ago and I thought it went really well. I guess it did since they called me Friday to invite me for a campus visit next Monday (kinda funny since I already work here, LOL). Anyway, it involves teaching a demo class, giving a presentation about my dissertation and meeting all kinds of people and food, LOL. I am nervous, but REALLY REALLY hoping that it goes well so that they'll offer me the job.
Then, Friday we went to a large sports festival that included a table tennis tournament in which DH and I participated. It was the first time playing a tournament since I was 24 weeks pregnant. Kian LOVED the hustle and bustle of the festival and all the people and kids, it was fun. The first night he didn't sleep too well in the hotel, but the second night he slept great and he napped great in his umbrella stroller during the day since we were at the festival all day Saturday and Sunday.
But, the last couple of nights he hasn't been sleeping well, his fourth tooth (second top) is poking through, UGH.
Otherwise he is babbling up a storm, nothing intelligible, LOL. Yesterday it was 75 degrees outside and we went to the park after work and he loved the swing, slide and teeter totter (sp?).
Anyways, sorry again for the selfish post. Will be back later to do personals.

Skyllar- Congrats on the call back for the job! I hope the next step goes well and that they offer it to you!!!!!!! Table tennis is super fun, I'm glad you got to go. 75 degrees is awesome. I'm glad Kian loved the park... LM did too when we recently took her for the first time.
Lou Lou- Thank you for your kind words. We went grocery shopping at super Walmart recently, and they have TONS of cute inexpensive clothing. They also started to carry name brands which I like as well! To be honest I am still not at the weight I would like to be at.... I really need to lose about 8 more pounds to be at the higher end of my weight range... but I would love to lose even 15 more pounds eventually
So update me everybody! Sparkles, Dollysmomma, Angel, mommabear, D4A, Chrisb, Georgi, and anyone else I may have not mentioned by name!!
P.S. DH took the night shift last night..... LM slept ALL NIGHT. 12 hours straight!!! NOT FAIR! Why won't she do that for me?????

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
Tiff,
I had such a rough time with DF for about the first 6 months after Audrey's birth. He was heavily medicated but went off of it about 6 months after Audrey was born then started helping me out quite a bit, but after letting him know that it makes for a long day with no help. The only thing is that when he looks after Audrey all day during the days he is off during the week, when I get home from work I take over and he takes off to his garage, that makes me angry because he never fully takes over for me when I'm home all day with her. But men will be men, he has helped, lately he's been slacking on helping with dishes (on his days off while I'm at work he says he'd do dishes and never does, so I get home to dirty dishes). So yeah I can totally relate, but with us both working full time, it makes for long weeks sometimes.

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
Hi all
Sorry been MIA for a little while
We are doing great. Kyrah is just a little toddler now, she is officially walking now ( but still crawls when she wants to get somewhere fast lol) she is starting to follow instructions, like where is baby ( doll) go and bring it to mummy etc. She is a chatter box and tires to copy everythig i do, i rub my hands together, so does she, i laugh, she will do this fake laugh its sooo cute. She is also interacting with other children playing chasey by crawling after them then when they turn around she crawls away laughing. every child she she's at the shops etc she will wave to and say bubba and she constantly pretends she is on the phone and tries to share her food with me and puts thing in my mouth lol
She just loves music and dances so much. I am just loving every second, she is soooo much fun. Got her weighes yesterday she is 8.6kg ( 19lbs) and 72.5cm (28.5 inches) tall
she hasnt been putting much weight on at all lately like 50g in 5 weeks but she eats and drinks sooo well and sleeps so well, so i think its just cause she is sooo active every second she is awake lol She is getting so independent and will play on her own and tried to give her dolls her dummy and feed her toys bottle etc.
Anyway i hope your all well and babies doing great
xxoxo

Re: Mums of babies 6-12 months
Hi guys, We had a busy day. i guess I'm officially no longer on this thread.
The other one is slow so I'm sure I will be in here til everyone is over there, which will be soon.
We had such a long day, we had kids over starting at noon and my family is still here. Emy dropped like a fly after she ate her cake. I'll post some pics and a video in pics thread. I don't have alot of the pics because my friend took most the pictures so I have to wait til tomorrow to get them.
Sparkles- Emy and Kyrah sound so much alike. Its funny that kids pic up all the same things.
Emy is also officially walking, I guess she has been but she is now able to walk around the room without falling, pic up toys and keep going. Yesterday and today I spent remembering last year in the hospital and when I nursed her tonight I thought, this was probably about the first time I nursed you last year and I almost cried. I couldn't agree with sparkles more about how I am still amazed every second I am with her.
Nicki- I think that them asking you to come in the meet and chat w everyone is great sign.
I can't complain too much about DH, we have it set up so that he has certain duties. He gives a bath and gets her ready for bed every night. He also gets up weekend mornings with her so I can sleep in. But he still annoys me sometimes.
Ok I have to crash, I am so ready for bed, I feel like the walking dead.

Hey Sparkles! I know what you mean about the independence!
But what struck me as funny is how different little boys and girls are even at this stage! Thane of course is about 3 months older, but he is independent a lot as well...but instead of dolls and feeding toys, he is in the floor playing with Blaine's monster truck!!! LOL How funny! I never really paid attention to how ALL BOY he is til i read that about Kyrah
I know i shouldn't be posting over here really either...BUT i love you ladies and I have a connection with all of you - not to say I don't on the other thread...but you know what i mean
I wanted to update you on Thane, since I haven't updated about him anywhere in a long time. He is almost 14 months old. He is saying "Mama" - ALL THE TIME NOW and i times i am going crazy like when I'm taking a shower and his fingers are under the door and hes crying MAMAMAMAMAMAMA, he runs thru the house yelling "Mama!?" when he can't see me
, he says "Dada" or Daeeee" sometimes for Daddy, He says Bubba for Blaine, He is saying "Nana" for Nannie, Ka-eee for my little sis Katie, and he is waving hi and bye (which he's been doing). He gives everyone "love" by putting his forehead against you - its his way of hugging, and tries to give "Suggies" but really just opens his mouth and slobbers on you LOL. He's been walking since he was 11 months, but now he is full on everywhere and almost running, sometimes he does run but gets scared cuz he doesn't know how to stop!! LOL He has 10 teeth, including 2 molars!! He LOVES to be read to, when i am siting in his room he comes and gives me a book andsits in my lap
His favorite is Kitty Up that we got from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library
I will say "You want mama read? Go get the Kitty Book" and he will laugh and go find teh Kitty book thru ALL of his tons of books and bring it back to me
He is a little ham too!! He is so funny! FULL of humor and everything is a game!! He wrinkles his nose and laughs and smiles to try to be cute and get out of trouble
Teling him no and spanking him is a game unfortunately ... oh boy look at terrible twos!! :S But, really he is a wonderful boy. He DOES listen mostly and if you tell him not to do something or if you say "Give it to mommy" he will USUALLY bring it to you. He is just a little man and I am so proud of him
Of course...he is still nursing. I had planned on weaning him at 1 year, but no way, he is NOT ready to give up boobie, even though he can drink thru a straw, a cup, and have his own juice box...which yes, Ms Cherry, he DOES turn upside down when he is done and lets it all leak out!!!
AND he can even take that tiny straw out of the juice box and put it back in that little tiny hole!! I was shokced when he did that!
anyway, better get ready for work...i may actually wear some makeup today for the meeting

ttyl - hope everyone is great!
