Sex since the baby was born

Post  Angel on Thu Sep 11, 2008 10:52 am

Things for me have been kinda slow.Firstly we can't seem to find time, secondly ,at the moment hubby sleeps on the couch most night in order to get a ful nights sleep. He works far away and has to get up early so I think thats fair enough. If he doesnt get sleep,he cant work,if he cant work,we have no money.

Also, the other biggy is,contraception,we have no fixed method in place.I had an IUD before we decided to have another baby but I cant afford to have one put in right now, also I cannot take the pill, hormones mess with me!So thats one put off as well!

we too are having trouble in this department. We attempted to do it last Friday and as soon as we got going Owen woke up!
Needless to say, once I got him back to sleep my DH was frustrated and didn't want to try again in case Owen woke up again!
It's really frustrating. I feel like I don't even have time to spend with my DH and when I do have time all we talk about is poop and how well Owen slept.....
I'm not on birth control either. DH will deal with condoms but it's not very fun for either one of us!

Glad to know I'm not the only one!!!!

Yeah really,we try and fit it in when she's asleep. However,DH mentioned (And I rather agree) that it doesnt feel natural, spontaneous or pasion filled like it used to.It feels like the days of "shove me up against the wall" sex are over.It kinda takes away from it when it feels like an appointment.I am sure though that it wil get better, once they sleep through the night. In about a monht or so,when my body is more toned,I am going to victorias' secret to splurge on underwear. Then,I am determined to have some great sex again, for me and my hubby!I know it will get good again,we just have to make sure that we don't allow things to just dissapear, sadly it does require effort to start it back up!I think!

I agree! It takes work from both partners!
My DH's 37 birthday is Oct 23rd and so I'm working out, trying to get back in shape and want to do something special for him that night. I think that may be Owen's first sleepover with my mom and dad!!!!
The few times we have done it, I'll be honest, it was difficult for me to stay focused. I kept wondering if Owen was going to wake up, etc.

I can totally relate to this. We barely got our own place after 10 months at my parent's place, we had previously been crammed in the freaking storage room with paper thin walls and no privacy. Things are getting better now, the deed is happening 3 times a week again. I do find myself exhausted from being up with the baby at night, and worrying about whether the baby will wake up while we are "busy". I keep the baby monitor on so we can hear if she wakes up. Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn't. I miss being spontaneous, but the lack of it is to be expected I guess when you have a tiny bubs.

I too plan to splurge at Victoria's Secret very soon.

Post  dolly's momma on Thu Oct 02, 2008 2:32 pm

Ok, so after Lucy was born I was going to do tha essure procedure. Dr put me on orthotricyclenlo for the 3-4 months til that was supposed to be good.

Except... had to cancel essure because found out I am allergic to nickel. Husband agreed to get vacectomy, got referals but he has not acted on them. Found out the hormonal bc messes me up too much, so stopped that. This morning early was the first time he had to break out the condems after stoppping the bc pills. ROFL before he went to work he had me dig out those referrals for the vasectomy.

hmmm, well right after kaydance was born obviously there was no sex going on for 5 1/2 weeks, but DF did get lots of BJs lol. then once we started having sex again it was great, and often!!! woo hoo!! lol. then it started to taper off a bit too, and i had to be the one that initiated it every time. its starting to get better again, but still not really as frequently as i would like lol. we are working on it though lol

i swear stupid DF would be happy just to get BJs forever and have sex maybe once a month. oye!

Didn't most of us "make appointments" for sex while we were dating?
