Anyone ever used a doppler at home?
I love the sound of that little heartbeat and so I've investigated about buying/renting a doppler for my own use in our home. Yesterday, I purchased one online and I can't wait for it to arrive soon! Just wondered if anyone has ever used one at home? Was it a good experience? Were you able to hear the heartbeat with it?

Re: Anyone ever used a doppler at home?
I used a doppler with my first pregnancy. Same one my doctor used in the office. I think it is called hi-bebe, not sure though I would have to look. I used it from about 12 weeks on and used it when I either did things like accidentally bumping my belly or if I didn't feel the baby moving much. Basically for reassurance. It worked great and never had a problem getting the heartbeat. Now more than half way through this pregnancy I haven't used it at all... yet? This baby never stops moving though. I'm sure I will use it at some point when this little girl finally decides to take a nap.

I did too, i brought one when i was pregnant with kieran and heard his heartbeat at 11 weeks. mine was called angel sounds i think. i recordeed his heartbeat with the cords it came with, was awesome and def a good purchase as daryn could never make the appts so he still got to be a part of it as well as my mum and jesse of course. I didnt buy it for the checking to make sure everything is ok, i used it all the time as it was so cool hearing bub when he had hiccups moved etc. I spent so much time laying there at night when jesse was in bed just listening to it and never got sick of it!
makes me clucky just thinking about it...................NO MORE KIDS...gotta keep telling myself that, well for now anyway

Re: Anyone ever used a doppler at home?
Yeah I did. I bought a HI BEBE doppler with a LCD screen which showed me how many beats per minute. It was especially brilliant when I experienced spotting or didn't feel much movement I just whipped it out and immediately at ease after hearing the HB. As I remember although the HI BEBE states you 'can' hear the HB as early as 10 weeks I didn't actually pick it up until 11 weeks with Theo and as I recall nearly 12 weeks with Klara. I managed to pick the HB very easily both times....it will be much lower than you expect. The easiest way to pick it up try 2-3 inches below the belly button and try BOTH sides as the baby can & will move away from the doppler. Kinda tilt the doppler aswell like the midwife would as this makes it sound much clearer in the early days but after 20 weeks it doesn't seem to make much odds. x Congratulations BTW!!! x x

I just ordered the Angel sounds doppler and can't wait for it to arrive. BF thinks it a bad idea as he says if for any reason I can't find the heartbeat one day it will freak me out too much. I researched different ones and it seems like a good make, some had terrible reviews!!!!
