Chlomid questions...
Ok,I told Ginny I would post this for her as she can't from her phone.I know it's a bit late in the day (sorry Ginny) but she wanted to know what the risks are with multiples while on it,and how it affects you,has anyone here taken it or know anyone who's taken it for personal experiences? Thanks
Re: Chlomid questions...
It's really pretty slim unless there's a history of multiples in your family already. My nurse practioner (at the OB/GYN office) told me in 10 years she had only seen 1 set of twins and no triplets.
The most common side effects is probably hot flashes (or prolonged periods of feeling really flushed for me). Also moodiness/being emotional. Some pretty intense ovulation pain the one month it actually worked.
50mg is most common starting dose, CD3-7, but some doctors do prescribe CD5-9 or even CD2-6. 100mg and 150mg are common as well. Some doctors will go up to 200mg but I don't think that's common. 7DPO progesterone tests are needed to confirm if it worked.

Re: Chlomid questions...
Yeah I would have to agree with Beth on all the info, for me the hot flashes where awful so I took them in the night to help try and sleep through them. Multiples are a chance but very very slim ( though still higher chance than a natural cycle ) Make sure there is some kind of blood work or ultrasounds being done as clomid is notorious for causing late ovulation in some women ( or none at all ) so sometime blood work is hard to decipher unless BBT or ultrasounds are done as a back-up...

Re: Chlomid questions...
i too had some hot flushes , mostly at night though and sometimes more painful ovulation. ( i think cause it helps mature the follicules so they can be bigger hence the pain and sometimes produces more )
I think they told me about a 5% chance of twins, but i think your normal natural chance is like 2 or 3 % anyway so not too much higher

Re: Chlomid questions...
Are you again Ginny? Or thinking of it?
I am on my last dose of clomid [5th month] and have not gotten pregnant on it as of yet. Maybe this month will be the month, who knows? I am also trying acupuncture and a million other things, so I figure something's gotta give eventually, right?
Hope you are well!
