Wow- it's been FOREVER!!!

Hi everyone! So nice to see some familar names out there! I am from AWH, as many of you are too. My son's name is Donovan. He was born in August of 2007. He'll be 4 in 5 months. I can hardly believe it.

We're still living in AZ.

Donovan is in preschool- he is developmentally delayed- mostly in speech, so it's a special program through our public school district. I also take him for speech therapy 4 times a week.

I never did have another baby- one child is quite enough lol.

I'm still married to my husband, who is from India. He got his US citizenship a couple of years ago and that was pretty exciting!

I've taken Donovan to all kinds of specialists, including a developmental pediatrician, who has ruled out autism, for the time being, as a contributor to his delays. I still think he may fall mildly on the spectrum. We just have not gotten a dx yet, which is fine. I don't "need" a dx at the moment for me to get him the services he needs.

He's adorable, but it's challenging, as he is not "where he should be" for his age. He's still not potty trained and he is verbal and is very able to communicate his needs. In speech therapy, we are working on conversational language and answering and processing questions.

He's affectionate, and sweet and cute and ACTIVE (OMG!!!!), and curious, but according to the school district evaluation, he shows delays in seepch, fine motor and social/emotional.

If anyone else has a child with special needs, autism, or some other syndrome or disorder, I'd love to "chat." I find a lot of support for moms of delayed kids on another forum, specifically for Mothers of children with all KINDS of issues.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in, update our situation and say, "HELLO! and Good to see you all!!!"

hi brown eyed girl! I remember you. I loved looking at Donovan's pic over on AWH. Most of everyone has pretty much tapered off from posting here, but I'm finding the need to talk to mommies with little ones again. Anyway, welcome!
