The departmental categories of Red Oak constitute the Police department, fire department, administration, human resources, parks and recreation, library, public works, economic development, community development and engineering, Red Oak tourism and code enforcement.

The police section uphold democratic values, provide service with fairness and respect, embrace diversity, equality, integrity and fairness and listen to all the voices in the community.
