Could I have miscarried and not known it?
I find myself wondering all the time if I really am in fact pregnant?!? I have had almost no morning sickness, just a few moments of queasiness, and other than feeling gassy and a little more tired, I feel excellent! Far different than my first pregnancy, where I was nauseous all the time!
We had a miscarriage 7 months ago, and so I'm super nervous that it will happen again. Also, my friend was pregnant and at 14 weeks she started spotting, they sent her for ultrasound and found that the baby was no longer alive...it was measuring that it had died at 9 weeks...so she went from 9 weeks to 14 weeks thinking she was pregnant, but really, the baby was no longer viable.
So I'm scared that the same thing could happen to me. I started with sore boobs, lots of gas, fatigue, and a few times I felt queasy. I also got bloated right away and couldn't wear my jeans...I've been in lovely yoga pants since 6 weeks! But now, I don't have any symptoms, and I don't feel like my 'bump' is getting any bigger. I try to see if I can feel my uterus above the pubic bone, but I don't think I can. Since this is not my first pregnancy, I figured I should be able to feel the fundus by now??
I know lots of expectant moms worry, and I try not to, but lately I keep wondering if I've already miscarried and just haven't started bleeding yet. Morbid, I know!
I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks, and got to see the tiny heartbeat! So that is reassuring! They told me I was only 7 weeks, but I don't know because I KNOW the date of my LMP very well! Do you think the ultrasound could be wrong? My LMP was Jan 20, and they are telling me my LMP should be Jan 28. But I KNOW I had already stopped bleeding by Jan 26...so that's not possible. So I don't know if I should just go with my dates and say I'm 11 weeks, or if I should go by the ultrasound which would mean I'm only 10 weeks. Any thoughts??
(Thanks girls...great to be chatting with you again!)

Re: Could I have miscarried and not known it?
It's only normal to worry about this. However, having a M/C does not up your chances of another one and you are one week away from the 'safety zone'.How about you call your dr and ask them for another scan just to reassure you.I am sure if you express your concern you could get another one or if they refuse you can pay for a provate one.It would be worth the money for you to relax.Another reassuring thing. With my son.I was EXAUSTED from day one,no nausea and my boobs were KILLINGme.With my daughter,I was sure it was a fluke, that I was not really pregnant,no sore boobs,no fatigue,no nausea until week 6,nothing,and beside the nausea,NO symptoms. Some women go through an entire pregnancy with no symptoms.I know it's not really helping you much. The only thing I would suggest would be to get another scan or at the very lest, have them try and fine the eartbeat with a doppler but thats not reliable at this stage as there could be a perfectly good baby there hiding behind a placenta on the front wall of the uterus. So A scan would be FAR beter at this stage.I am sure everything is fine.I am sending you big hugs and love! Glad you're back
Re: Could I have miscarried and not known it?
Hi Mixxer! I know all too well the fears of miscarriage after going through one. I bleed with every pregnancy, and I have been bleeding this time, and it freaks me out so bad.
Pregnancies can be very different, so I wouldn't worry too much. You could always go to a dollar (Or pound store if you are in the U.K.) and get a cheapie pregnancy test and pee on it for peace of mind. That's what I did, almost constantly when I was first pregnant.
It's so scary, especially when you have miscarried before. I am sure everything will be okay, especially if you have not had any spotting. Take it easy, and we are here for you.

Re: Could I have miscarried and not known it?
Mixxer I know exactly how you feel. I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and am terrified something has gone wrong already. I am trying so hard to be positive but at this current time I am finding it VERY hard. I know what triggered it. On another forum I post on a lady found out that she had miscarried on Monday. It hit me WAY harder than thought it would Since that moment I have not been able to relax and I can't get the thought out of my head. It didn't help that I have had VERY tender heavy boobs since just after the , this morning I woke up and feel nothing. The rational part of my brain keeps telling me to stop worrying but the crazy side of my brain is freaking out. *sigh*
Re: Could I have miscarried and not known it?
I think the fear of losing a baby (especially if you have lost one before) never really goes away. I lost our first and was honestly terrified the majority of my second pregnancy. Once he started moving a lot I felt more relaxed.
Not everyone experiences severe morning sickness and breast tenderness does go away. It may be that you have just simply adjusted to the pregnancy hormones better than some women do!
I would not be too concerned about the size of the baby based on the first appointment yet either. I know that during my pregnancy I saw slight fluctuations especially in the early days. When do you go back for your next appointment? Is it possible to see if they would let you come earlier?

Re: Could I have miscarried and not known it?
Thanks everyone. I've seen the doctor and everything looks great! We got to hear the heartbeat when I was 12 weeks, so that was a wonderful surprise! It was 180, which sounds pretty high to me! Then when I went a few weeks later it was 156. I am 15 weeks now and I think I've just started to feel the flutters...it's early, I know, but I'd know this feeling anywhere!! I love it!
