Movement at 25 wks Empty Movement at 25 wks

Post  Georgi Thu Oct 01, 2009 5:25 pm

So between weeks 21-24 movement has been REALLY obvious, I could clearly see my belly move in all directions and some kicks would literally take my breath away but over the last 2/3 days I can't help but notice the pattern of movement has changed. My midwife advised me to not count the kicks but to make a mental note of the pattern of movement and if thing's changed I should contact her....well thing's have changed, I still feel movement but it's less intense and certainly not as much as it's been...is it normal for movement to slow down at this stage of pregnancy??? I don't remember what it was like with Theo at 25 weeks and I know that ideally you shouldn't compare but I just need some reassurance I guess!

Sometimes it slows down because they have less room to move than they used to. Maybe you have a long one in there.

Georgi- I remember having a scare in my early 20 weeks with Kyrah stooping moving so much, i rang the hospital and they were not worried at all, saying its too early to feel baby ( i had felt her since14-16 weeks) then i rang again later and the lady was nice, saying lie on your side and drink something sugary and make sure they are moving, even though i had the doppler and could here bubs it freaked me out. It really only lasted a week, so i wonder if it was a growth spurt maybe a bubs was sleeping more?? i dunno
but your not silly for feeling worries, im sure i will go through it again lol
I cant wait to feel this abby move, at times i think i have felt it, but still unsure

I agree with everyone. She has probably gotten a little bigger AND she may have changed positions. I know with Owen he was front facing (his tummy was pointing out) but at some point he turned with his back facing out and the movement TOTALLY changed. She may just be getting into position! : )
Of course, YOU know your body and your baby better than any of us so if things don't feel right, have it checked out.

Hang in there! I'm sure she's fine!

Thank you for all your reassuring replies Kiss it's typical but literally since yesterday afternoon she has been moving about a lot so I guess it must have been a case of her moving positions!?

When I was pregnant with LM she was transverse for the longest time and she would grind her head and heels into both my hips. Then she flipped, it was the craziest thing, and I didn't feel her as much. I was really freaked out at first, but then after a few days again, I got used to her new position and I guess she did too because she started kicking like crazy again. I think the bigger they get, the less wiggly and squirmy the movements feel. In stead you will just feel hard kicks every so often.

I'm sure it's okay, glad to hear you have such an active little girl in there! I can't wait for you to meet her!

She may have just changed her sleeping patternes hun and room is getting limited in there ... I shouldn't worry tho as I was told kicks/movements don't really count under the stage they give the kick charts out x
