Evap Line?

How do you know if it is an evap line or not on an HPT? I used a dollar store test and I have heard a lot of those get evap lines. I used a dollar store one and got a faint line on my last pregnancy and then got a faint line yesterday, but I am not sure if it was in the allotted time they give you. I took the test yesterday morning and then was going to go back and check it when the puppy needed to be let out so I was outside for a bit and came back and saw a faint line. I will try to take a pic of it later today if I get the chance, but keep in mind it will be from yesterday morning. I didn't test again today, didn't want to be disappointed.
Any advice/help you have would be appreciated.

What is it about the line making you think it's an evaporation line? What colour is it? I think evap lines are normally a greyish colour but not 100% sure as I have never had one. If you want to be sure take another test!!! It would be highly unusual to get two evaps in one day

I only have experience with negative ones (blah) but I'm good at Googling(!). I came up with the great site, if you're not already familiar with it, www.peeonastick.com.

This is what she has to to say (in part) about evap lines:
A real positive is identified by its color (pink or blue, whatever the color of the test's dye is) and its appearance within 10 minutes of urinating on the stick. A line that appears after 10 minutes, regardless of color, must be considered an evap line and is caused by the test's chemicals changing. HPT's are rapid assay diagnostics, which means any results appearing after the "rapid" time limit of 10 minutes are invalid.

So if in doubt, re-test. Tomorrow will be 13DPO, right? If it's positive, chances are you'll see it!

usually if i have ever got a second line i was pregnant, i had some really faint ones with one of my pregnancies and i was indeed pregnant. i never got a second line at all when with Kyrah

Whoooo exciting! I have had them and they are very thin, not like bfp and have appeared hours later!

What time does Lindzee normally get on here? I keep coming back trying to find an update! lol!

Thanks for the advice ladies! I haven't taken another test because I don't have any left and it looks like my temps are on a downward trend for tomorrow or Saturday. I think the line did appear after the ten minutes, but usually I never get any kind of line...darn those dollar store tests and getting my hopes up. Here's to another month trying!

Lindzee my temp went way down at 14 DPO of my cycle! It means nothing!!!! If your temp is still up today will you take another test?

Lindzee here is to hope...stupid evap lines. Everytime I read posts from everyone I feel like I am right there with you. But since there isn't an updated post I am still hoping that it was a faint line....

Hey Lindzee! Are you gonna post a pic of it???? I have gotten an evap line before and it was grayish colored, not pink at all. And it isn't the same width or larger as the control line either.
