Potty training little girls!!
Ok, I feel sort of silly even asking this as a mom who has potty trained three kids already! But this girl thing is totally different! She has been ready for a long time, even though she is only two, she has been tearing off diapers as soon as they are the least bit wet, she can and will at times go on the potty, but it is so hit and miss. Now i am fully aware that I haven't put the concentration on it I probly should, but has anyone had any really great methods that they can share with girls. Everyone told me boys were harder, I am beginning to disagree!

Re: Potty training little girls!!
Hello dear Crystal. I myself have potty trained two little girls, both of whom I used to nanny for. The key is to be consistent. Have a kitchen timer, let her wind it up, and tell her when it goes off, she needs to sit on the potty. I think every half and hour of trying is good. If you feel she needs to try every 20 because she keeps wetting, then go for 20. It also helps to let them pick out their panties. Pick out something girly like Disney princess's. Tell her that if she goes potty in her panties, that she will pee on Cinderella (or whatever she chooses), and that Cinderella will get all yucky and be sad. It totally helped the girls I nannied for.
The potty dance helps too, I saw it on Super Nanny, and I used it when I potty trained my step-son. You just start singing, " Pee pee on the potty!!!" All hyped up, and it gets them smiling. If they go, they get to sing "I went pee pee (poo poo) on the potty!" Then dance around. It works great

Thanks
Funny I had totally spaced the fact that I did potty train a little girl when I was a nanny about 13 years ago! Wierd! Thanks for the timer idea. That is probly why she is the hardest is before I just had little kids around, now between homework, getting school projects done, working at the school, etc... I think the poor thing gets forgotten! I need to just set a day aside and do that. She went potty today and of course I made a huge deal and we do dance around, she loves it, but about a half hour later, she just stood there and pee'd! Oh well, she will get it. I bought her some cute panties that she loves, but good idea about the disney princesses, she would get a kick out of that!
Thanks again!

Ok, when the time comes I will probably remember and use those exact words, but right now they just made me laugh.
