My sister-please pray for her

My older sister is on the way to the ER right now. She has a lot of health problems although you'd never know it cuz she doesnt complain. Apparently she has blood clots in her lungs and she is coughing up blood. I can't leave yet cuz she is in transit but i want to go be w her when she gets there i will keep u posted but i really hope she is ok. i can't live without my big sister.

I didn't go to the ER cuz my little sister and mama are up there. Stephanie apparently had been her to dr in Nashville earlier in the week and he told her she had clots in her lungs then tonight she was coughing up blood and had chest pain, but the dr in the ER said it was NOT a pulmonary embolus - which i am confused cuz i thought that WAS a clot in your lung!? BUT THANK GOD its not that!! I am waiting to hear back from mama on the CT scan. They did it STAT so hopefully we will hear back soon on what is wrong with her. I hope that its not as serious as we thought, but I am telling you, she has so many things wrong I know the day will come where it will not be good news anymore. I dont think I will be alright either if that happens. But for now I will try to stay positive and keep praying that she will come out of this just like the last time when soemthing similar happened...

I just heard back from my mom and she said that the CT is negative for a pulmonary embolism and they are sending her home. She has to go to her Lupus doc in the am for him to check out and see what is causing her lung problems. I am so glad it was not a PE, because I remember working at the hospital, that was NOT a good diagnosis Thank you so much for your prayers! She still needs them because it seems there is always something since her Lupus has been out of remission :cry: I know she is in constant pain even though she never says it. Just keep thinking of us XXXXX

I know you've said in the past that she has lots of health problems. Are they all related to Lupus? Just curious.....
Glad it wasn't a PE. I was scared when you mentioned the clots earlier. I'm like you, I thought that a clot in the lung was a PE..... keeps us posted.

Oh Ginny how awful, I totally missed this only because I was fast asleep in bed!! (gone midnight UK time) I am glad that she is making a recovery and although it's not as serious as you first suspected it's still horrible and scary! My thoughts are with you and your family honey! x x

She's going to Vandy today so hopefully we will hear.

Lou Lou, she got lupus at 13, and since then its attacked a lot of her organs, including her thyroid. She got a huge goiter when she was 24 and had her thyroid completely removed and it messed up her voice when they did surgery. She has rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia where she is constant pain and has to take medicine, she has problems with her feet, some sort of huge lumps, interstitial lung disease, she did have a heart murmur, but i think that's gone, basically lupus just attacks your own body and organs because it thinks that everything is a foriegn object and should be killed (at least that's how i understood it). It was in remission from teh time she was 15 or 16 until she turned 30. She is 32 now. I honestly can't remember all of her health problems cuz there are so many, but she also hides a lot too and doesn't want me to worry! Well, any of us to worry I guess, I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and she sugar coats stuff for us all the time, so we won't worry - she is the oldest.

Anyway,I am glad she is ok and I will let you know what the doc says today if anything. They don't seem to know what is wrong in her lungs

Ginny, thanks for the good-news report! See, it IS good news because it's not a PE (I was worried about that too). Hopefully her doctors can start addressing her issues again and get her feeling better.

She hasn't heard anything back from the dr but is supposed to have more tests done. She has a blood clotting disorder, which she's had for some time, so the doc wants to put her on Coumadin to try to keep the clots from forming. I really appreciate everyone's concern!
