Filed Our Taxes
We did our taxes tonite online, were getting 1962.00 back from Fed and 369.00 back from state for a total of 2331.00
yay! lol of course I wish it was more but I only work part time so I didn't make much money this year, but this was our first year filing married jointly so kind of exciting
Were gonna put it in savings and hopefully be able to buy our first house this spring/summer!

That's so exciting!!!! I'm glad to hear you are saving it! It would be so tempting to spend it.

Re: Filed Our Taxes
Good for you! You got those filed in a hurry -- we have no W2s yet at all and I haven't even started compiling our deductible stuff.
First couple of years MrG and I were married, we owed about as much as you got refunded. Now that really sucked.

Re: Filed Our Taxes
We just got w-2s on Saturday, and still haven't got a bunch more of the tax statements we need to file. I read somewhere they moved back the deadline companies have to mail it by. Hopefully our refund will pay for my new heat pumps. One year we had to pay ALOT, and later they realised they made a mistake and we got all of it back plus some, but it freaked my husband out, so now he has them withhold way more than is needed. In one way it is nice because we get a big check back every year, but then it would be nice to have that much more to work with each month too....
