Wish me luck
I am biding my time for the next two hours waiting for an ebay auction to end. It is a piece of equipment I really want, that I can hope to build a small business from.
The one I have been wanting costs $900. This one in the auction has hardly been used, and it is two levels above the other, retail $2000. This morning the bid was $350, and people have been minimum bidding back and forth and raised it to $450. I hope they stop because.....
My strategy is to wait until the last minute, go in there and bid $650 and they won't be able to nickle and dime catch me, and I will get a steal! It seems like all the bidders are pretty new to ebay, so I am hoping they haven't got alot of clues how the bidding works, cause even though it is worth more I can't really go any higher.....
Hopefully Little Missy won't be screaming her head off right at that moment in time, I will be so bummed if I miss it.

Re: Wish me luck
oooh good luck DM!!! i hope you get it what is it for? and what kind of business are you planning? how exciting though!
Re: Wish me luck
Oooooh, good luck! I LOVE eBay! Both buying and selling.
Your strategy is a great one. Last March or April I found a dirt bike I wanted on eBay and miracles of miracles it was hardly used and was only 3 hours away. I waited and waited and waited until just a couple of minutes before it ended before I submitted my one and only bid, with my maximum considerably higher than the current bid. A couple of others tried to get in over me, but I won in the end, and still well below my max. I was literally dancing around the house afterwards!
I can hardly wait to see how it turns out for you!

Re: Wish me luck
Awww, I didn't get it. Somebody with more money had the same idea I did and won. Sigh. It went too high anyhow, I shouldn't have even bid. I would have been sooooo in the doghouse with the husband if I had actually won.
Grrrrr......
It was a graphics cutter/plotter. Sorta like a cricut, only no cartridges or anything, and a much more commercial one that you draw what you want to cut. I have been toying with making custom photo albums and cards, and kits. I love the assembly of the actual things -- I HATE scrapbooking so I make all these cool things and then never use them - usually I give them away as presents. My friends and family all like to scrap book but don't have the art interest to fiddle with the part I love - so I was thinking of doing a little and see how it goes.
One project I am just waiting for the paper to work on is a baby planner shower book, that you can then turn around and give to the person the shower is for as a keepsake. After I make one next week I will put photos on to see what y'all think of it.

Re: Wish me luck
Sorry you didn't get it DM!! There is some kind of program that you can set up to automatically bid for you at the last minute and it almost always works for my Dad and brother. I will find out what it is and let you know.
Good for you for starting up your own business. I am trying to figure out something I can do from home... I really need some income but I still want to be able to be a SAHM.
