I AM SO SAD

Well, that horrific train crash that happened On September 12th in California was only one stop away from reaching my hometown of Simi Valley when the crash happened. I knew that some of my friends take the train, and I have been waiting anxiously to hear from them all.

It turns out my friend has lost her father in this accident. She and her family are devastated, and she just got married last year. Her younger sister is a few years younger and in college. Her youngest brother is 19. I don't even know what to say, I am in shock. She went to grade school and high school with me and my sister, and her mom was always involved in our girl scout troops, and chaperoning for different school trips, ect. Her Dad was also involved in everything they did, he was SO nice.

P.S. My other close friend, Jeanette was supposed to be on that train, but happened to stay late at work that evening, so she caught the next train. Had she been on the earlier train, she would have died too.

Such a tragedy.

OMG Tiff, I am sooo sorry to hear about your friends loss. I can definately relate since my best friend lost her mom at a very young age in a car accident and she and her brother and mom's boyfriend were all in the car when it happened. I can understand it being not sooo bad when you are younger (regardless still a traumatic experience), but when you have known that person for much longer, I bet it hurts even more. I lost a new friend in a car crash a few months after I met her and it hurt me deeply and I was just getting to know her, so imagine if I had known that friend for much longer?!?! My prayers and thoughts are with your friends family at this moment...xxx

Oh my! Hun I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. I am always horrified to hear of things like this happening where alot of people lose there lives. My thoughts are with you and with everyone who lost someone special to them xxx

Ohh Goodness I am so sorry and sending some BIG hugs your way it is never easy loosing friends or loosing someone you know in general. I feel so bad for all those poor people.

It is very sad and unfortunate. They are saying that it is the driver's fault, because he was text messaging someone, and did not stop at a red light, which is what caused the collision. Thank you for your support.

Yup. Well, the spokeswoman for Metrolink said and I quote,"It is believed that the driver of the train may have been text messaging, and therefore did not stop at the red light as he was supposed to."

Ya, he was texting. I think the victims families are going to get a large sum of money. Not that it will bring their loved ones back, but still.

Wow, it really does amaze me that you could have a job like that where so many peoples lives are in your hands and you would text while driving a train! It's disgusting.
