I just wanted to announce....
That I got fitted professionally at J.C. Penny for a new bra. It was WONDERFUL. THe lady knew all the bras that would be good for me. She came into the dressing room with me and helped me, and I learned SO MUCH about how to get a good fitting bra. I ended up getting a 38D. I didn't think I would wear a 38... but because I am larger busted, I ended up with a minimizer bra by lilyette which has no stretch to it whatsoever, which is why I needed it to be bigger around. In Playtex stretch bras I wear a 34DD. Anyhoo, I love the bra... and best of all... it's free to get fitted!!
I recommend everyone do this at least once in your life when bra shopping. My chest has never felt or looked so good in clothes.
I feel pretty..... oh so pretty........

Thanks for telling us about this! I'm canceling my apt tomorrow and heading over to JCP!!!!!

Wow, that sounds great, Tiff. Thanks for sharing. I am soooo looking forward to wearing regular cute bras again and getting fitted, but I will have to stop nursing first, lol - and we are not there yet. Anyways, I will totally go to JCP when it is the time. Thanks....and glad you are enjoying your new bra.

Cool! On "What Not to Wear" they say most women are not wearing the correct size bra. Also, I've noticed that not every bra in the same size will fit either. I wear a certain style of Vanity Fair exclusively right now. I wonder if I'm really a 38D after all? LOL!

Re: I just wanted to announce....
I recently got fitted at Nordstrom - I don't usually shop there but was looking for something they didn't have ( a bra with clear sides for my wedding dress - ended up giving up and just getting a little wrap) and did pick up one of their cheaper bras in the right size (if you can call $45 cheap for a bra!) but I gotta admit, it fits awesome!
I'll probably go get fitted again once I'm done nursing and my BB's go back down to where they were. Definitely makes a huge difference though - I never imagined I could find an underwire bra I'd be able to stand for more than 10 minutes!

Re: I just wanted to announce....
I don't think I've been fitted since I was 13, and I'm pretty sure things have changed a little since then!
tiff that sounds incredible and I can just imagine how fabulous you're feeling now. I am a little jealous, I have to say!!
I had thought about going to look for a new bra soon as I am already feeling like I'm outgrowing mine a little with this pregnancy ... but if they're just going to keep growing, when should I shop for a new one? I think I will get fitted when I do go (you've inspired me!) but I don't know when the best time is to shop for a new size bra in pregnancy??? Any advice??? (is this off topic? I can move it if it is ... don't want to hijack from you tiff)

Re: I just wanted to announce....
Sapphire, you aren't hijacking at all.
To be honest... you should have a good fitting bra all throughout pregnancy for everyday wear. I think that you should be fitted as soon as possible. I didn't get a bigger bra soon enough, nor did I get professionally fitted, and I regret it now.
I would wear a tight sports bra when I was at home and not going any where during my pregnancy. But if I was dressing a bit nicer for an outing then I would wear the bra I got.
Now is a great time to be fitted
Good luck.

Re: I just wanted to announce....
Thanks Tiff! I already wear a tight sports bra at home, that and my sweatpants are pretty much what I change into every night after work now! I know it'd be good to have a good fitting bra all throughout, but I when will the bb's stop growing? I'd hate to be fitted now and get a new bra or two, and then grow out of them again in another month? I haven't gotten HUGE but they are noticeably bigger already.

Re: I just wanted to announce....
Sapphire- I just saw your most recent post here.
I recommend getting fitted now for a good fitting bra... because you want good support. You probably only need one if you are wearing a sports bra at home. I regret not getting fitted properly... my boobs aren't terrible now... but I got a lot of stretch marks and they are noticeably saggier than they once where. I think they would be in better shape if I had taken better care of them early on in my pregnancy.

Re: I just wanted to announce....
Hey Sapphire!
It may also depend on how big you are bustwise. I was a 34 B before I got pregnant and during the pregnancy I was only a 38 B maybe (so I didn't really change cupsize). But AFTER I had him at times I am about a 36 C WOO FREAKIN HOO!!!!!!!! I am still nursing though so i don't see that they are saggy or anything. I can't believe when my milk came in that i didn't get stretch marks because LITERALLY overnight on the 3rd date postpartum, I woke up as a 'D' cup! I was so happy but uncomfortable! I never knew my boobs could be that big without surgery LOL
But anyway, I wore sports bras also the whole time and even now that is all i wear, but when you have itty bittys like me, you don't need a lot!!
But, I do agree with Tiff, I wish I'd have gotten fitted for a good bra

Re: I just wanted to announce....
Okay that's good to hear! I don't know how much I've grown yet but it's noticeable to me and DH! We're away this weekend so maybe next weekend (I'd be around 9 1/2 weeks) I'll try to go. Thanks for your advice, this is really good to know!! (this is why I love this forum - who else IRL would I have this conversation with?!)

Re: I just wanted to announce....
I agree with Tiff and Ginny. I was a 34 C before I was pregnant but by the beginning of my second trimester I had gone up to a 36 C and stayed there until about 35 weeks. But once my milk came in..... oh good God! I was HUGE!!!!!! I went up to DD!!!!!!!
I think it's worth purchasing two now.... Go for it!!!!!

Re: I just wanted to announce....
Go for it Sapphire, you need to look after those boobies especially if you want to breast feed. I think I must be the only person with smaller boobs than pre pregnancy. They're all soft and droopy now and I don't even get tender boobs pre for some reason.
