Very scared.....lump on cervix!

OMG, I checked my cervix this evening so as I can fill in my chart and there is a very obvious lump on there about the size of a pea. I thought I can feel something previously but wasn't quite sure as it wasn't low enough. I called my Doctor and they said I have to see the nurse tomorrow. I am so scared and have no idea what it may be but obviously thinking the worst!

I have a small lump on my cervix, been there for at least the last 3 months(which is how long I've checked it) and the doctor never mentioned it as abnormal when I went in for my annual last month.

That sounds reassuring Myste, I'm thinking of looking on the net but I will probably just scare myself even more.

I agree with Holi hun! Let us know what the nurse says, hope it's nothing major. I have never felt my cervix, that's just ick to me, haha!! Thinking of you!!

Oh hun I have never checked my cervix before so wouldn't really know what it's supposed to feel like. It's probably nothing but I know how scary these things can be. Just hang in there untill tomorrow hun, I am sure they will be able to put your mind at rest!

OK, I am no doctor, I definitely advise you to see one. I will however attempt to make you feel better.

I get lumps on my cervix that come and go a lot. I asked my doctor about it, and after a normal pap smear, he told the bump I felt was a polyp.

It is pretty common to have these. I usually just have one at a time, and they come and go.

I also have a weird bump that I can feel in my vaginal wall, it is pea size, and my doctor said that it is just a little cyst, he compared it to a zit, and told me not to worry. It has been there for like 7 years and never grown larger.

Please do not panick, if it is a firm bump it is more than likely a nabothian cyst, they are caused by cervical cysts and they are completely harmless. They usually disappear on their own and you can get then again and again. Many women get them but bcos they don't check their cervix they would never know, all the same I know that it can be a shock to feel something like that!

Ah, thank you for the concern girls. Sorry I haven't been on here earlier, Molly has been very cranky today and getting very frustrated that she can't stand up on her own yet.

I saw the nurse and she said exactly the same as Tiff and Georgi. She said that everything looked normal and took a pap smear so I am just waiting on the results for that. I was well over due to have one so it was good in the sense that it urged me to get it done.
