Remind me about growth spurts??
When do they happen again????
Klara has been feeding what feels like non stop for 3 days now (inc today) she is still sleeping from about 11pm until 4am which is great but I feel as though during the day I can't put her down for very long at all.....she seriously hardly naps during the day....just FEEDS!!!! As you probably know via FB I have had a very severe tummy bug since Thursday and I am wondering as I am hardly eating anything (just burnt toast) I am producing enough milk for her???? I have tried eating cereal and boiled rice but with-in an hour they came back out I have been drinking tons of water though!!

Usually monthly Georgi, if I remember rightly. Sounds like you're doing the right thing with the water, are you getting much protein?
Re: Remind me about growth spurts??
sorry to hear u been ill sweety, its the worst feeling ill whilst bfing.I hope it will pick,up you may be a little short in supply as long s you try and keep drinkinh when you can and then when your body can hold food again, you will be fine.In the mean time just try and take it easy so you're not using all your calories up on energy ,your body will take what nutrients it can to make milk as far as I know, even if you dont eat much for a few days, but it will lower the supply,as for growth spurts,Could be what you said or could be a growth spurt.Hugs to you in this hard time I know it's been awfulfor you xx
Re: Remind me about growth spurts??
Georgi - it may be a combination of a growth spurt AND the lack of calories on your part. I just say keep doing what you are doing and it will all pass. I hope you start feeling better soon!
You guys have hard a rough go lately!!!!

Re: Remind me about growth spurts??
Alrighty thanks for your advice/input ladies She's still feeding alot BUT I have started to feel the letdown reflex again and I hadn't been feeling that for a few days so now I have some reassurance she is getting some milk.
We have had a rough ride of late and hopefully this is it now for a good while I haven't been ill like this for years or at least when I feel like I am coming down with somethin my body usually fights it off extremely quickly....it's almost as if since giving birth my immune system has been compromised!
Emma - all I 'can' eat that doesn't go straight through is carbs.....the thing is I actually feel hungry and definately feel as though I could eat a proper dinner BUT I am worried it will start up again....my Mum has recommended scrambled eggs on toast so I will go out and get some today!!
