Cloth nappies (Diapers)
We haven't felt the financial effects of having 2 babies in nappies as if you recall I won that competition last year entitling us to a 1 years free supply of nappies what a god send that has been we have 15 vouchers left and about 7/8 packs of nappies stashed away! But after the vouchers & nappy supply are gone I am VERY tempted to switch over to cloth nappies, mostly I love the fact that they are environmently friendly and work out so much cheaper than disposables but they come in all kinds of cool patterns now very unlike the old fashioned terry towelling cloth nappies I was in when I was a babba! Does anyone here use cloth diapers or know of any reasons why it's not all positive....I have heard that cloth nappies can cause babies difficulties in learning to walk, I don't know how much truth there is in that. I would be interested in hearing your views on them if you can't give me advice from personal experience. Thank you x x

Hun I think it's to every person their own. My friend has a friend who patented these.... I don't know if she ships to England, but check them out.

My friend switched to these and swears by them.
I know they are more environmentally friendly, but I'm not really sure how much money you save because of the extra electricity that is spend washing the nappies. I haven't personally used them to know the difference in what you save, so perhaps someone who has used both could give you an insight on that

Re: Cloth nappies (Diapers)
I watched one of those tv shows that debunks science things and stuff.
They did a comparison between cloth and disposable diapers. From manufacture to disposal or washing. Their total impact on the environment was pretty much the same. They said the only differences would come down to your particular area. If it is an area where landfill space is at a premium, cloth would be better. If you lived in an area where water is in short supply then it would be better to use the disposables.

Re: Cloth nappies (Diapers)
Now I never considered the extra cost of washing the nappies...hmmmmmm!! I guess I would need to do a wash everyday maybe at a stretch every other day but then I'd need a lot more cloth nappies to keep me going. This is a VERY valid point and something I have to try and work out.
Also interesting point raised Dolly.....we have no issues with either concern so I guess that would mean either nappy would have equal effects on the environment.
and Lou Lou to be fair I immediately see that using cloth nappies would be a ton more work and this is one of the main reasons I am playing with the idea and haven't already made the switch.....have I got time with 2 kids to be worrying about it!

Cloth Diapers
Hey there,
Long time no see! Decided to pop on here and see how you all are doing. Though I do get to see a bunch on fb too.
Anyways, we do use cloth diapers and find it quite easy. I use Gro Via diapers. They are awesome. Super easy to use. The investment at the beginning is pretty hefty but they pay off in the end. If you are still interested I am happy to talk more with you.
