Breastfeeding and Teeth....
Okay I'm still nursing. Now that Jasper's top teeth are getting longer, I'm having a big of a problem and wondered if there was any tips or advice out there or anyone who experiences the same thing.
When Jasper's nursing, I'm noticing pain from where his top teeth are and they are actually indenting their prints onto the top of my nipple. It's like his suck is so strong and his teeth are in the way and causing me sooo much pain. It's sooo unbearable!! I almost am about to stop nursing and really I want to continue morning and night. I just wondered if this is temporary because he is teething again....or if this is just another highlight to breastfeeding....
thanks!

Re: Breastfeeding and Teeth....
Thanks for getting back to me Lou lou, even if you don't have an answer. I'm guessing it's Jasper's deal, lol!!! HOW on earth do I tell him to be gentle? LOL!!! Actually sometimes his latch isn't so bad, but my nerves are getting the best of me and fear for my nipples lives, haha!!!

Sorry Gutter I don't know what to tell you either. Isaac never had a latch that was a problem and I don't think his teeth ever really caused pain.

Re: Breastfeeding and Teeth....
eh,I'm sorry hun.I can't help you either.I only had Tia-li bite me once and I yelled so loud.I think yoiu're right and he's probably just sucking and his teeth are getting pushed into your skin.Still sucks.A nipple shield would be my only suggestion. It might also prepare him taking a bottle if he doens't already.if he doesn't like it,then maybe put it on after he's nursed for a few minutes so he's not starving and then slipping it on might take away your pain and be easier.I hope you figure something out! hugs x
Re: Breastfeeding and Teeth....
He does take a sippy cup during the day, doesnt much care for homo milk though....sigh...but loves apple juice, haha!! Actually today wasn't so bad , I think he is in pain from teething or something. I'm still getting some indentation marks but not as bad...
thanks for all the replies on something that's unheard of, LOL!!

Re: Breastfeeding and Teeth....
I have no idea if an answer will be there but I was looking up something else on Le Leche League's site and I noticed they had something about teeth on their site. Maybe they have an answer or solution.
