Oh nika!I am s sorry hun.My mum had that! She said it's as painful if not more than childbirth! She had a gall stone removed the size of a pigeon egg shock

I am glad they hae recognised what it is and tht you are going to get it sorted,my mum went on for DAYSZ before it was diagnosed during which time she got an infectoin from it.

Good news is they will probably do 'keyhole' surgery whihc means you wont be cut open and have a huge scar.At least thats what they did for my mum. Also, sometimes they just zap them with lazer which is even less invassive!Either way I am sending you big hugs and healing!

love ya!xxxxxxxx HUGS

sorry to hear you aren't well Nika! My friend just went through the same thing, but she said the recovery wasn't bad, and she was fine after a week or so.

Get feeling better soon hun!

Angel- yeah they told me at the hospital i should be able to get the lacroscopic surgery or whatever it is (keyhole like you said) and i should be able to go home that night or the next morning when they do it. so that doesnt sound to bad!

Post  dolly's momma Sat Oct 04, 2008 12:22 am

My husband woke up one morning about two years ago a peculiar shade of greenish gray and having the same terrible pains. They admitted him to the hospital and removed his gall bladder that very evening. The next morning he was able to drink coffee and eat pancakes for breakfast at the hospital, and he was discharged and ready to go home by 9 am.

It slowed him down a tiny bit, but he really had no issues to deal with afterwards. He ate pretty much anything he wanted and it didn't bother him. Didn't keep him off work more than a day, his surgery was Friday and he was back at work Monday.

I hope it goes just as well for you!

Nika,
Glad to hear that the surgery isn't as huge as it sounds and that you'll be able to hopefully go home the very same day or the next. Hope you are feeling better hun and that it gets taken care of ASAP for you!! Thinking of you!!

just an update:

i just got back from meeting with my doctor. She was awesome!!!! she straight off told me she wanted to have my gallbladder removed, and i was grateful lol, it hurts!! but anyways, she gave me a little bit of information about the surgery and set me up an appt with a surgeon on wed. afternoon and told me that they would be able to give me loads more information, and tell me when i can have it done. so at least ive got a consultation with the surgeon now on wed, and then i will find out when they have an opening to do the operation! i hope its soon lol!

this is so weird! I have been really sick for a week now and I went to the doctor today and they said they think it's my gallbladder! Apparently gall bladder problems arise after child birth!
I should know more by the end of the week!

Hope you are feeling better soon!
