Should I get a Christmas Job?
Jobs, what to do?
Hey all!
I'm learning to drive and have my test in a couple of weeks. Obviously there's no guarantee that I'll pass, but I am ready for sure. At the moment I have a job at Subway in my local town. Without a driving license I'm VERY limited, especially without experience in the office. My dilemma is, I'm only getting 20 hours per week on average= £100 a week. That isn't much at all, I'm on min wage.
Now, there are LOADS of Christmas jobs coming up, at shops, which usually start end of October/early November, until early January. The danger is if I get one and don't pass before Christmas , I'll be left without a job in the new year, but whilst I work there I'd have double the money because it'd be double the hours, and maybe even a higher hourly wage. Or stay in a crappy paid/low hours job, wait till I get my license and leave. Which means having 0 money at all for the mean time.
What would you do :?:
Thanks for reading

Re: Jobs, what to do?
I would get a job now.You WILL pass your test this time.Just get lots of practice with your bf and work on the things you failed for last time.Once you have this liscence ALL kinds of possibilities will open up! hugs!
Re: Jobs, what to do?
I realised today that if I stayed at Subway, and if I had to pay for more tests that would be a lot more than I can afford. Therefore, I need a full time job at the moment
I'm gonna hand in the application today. I've already applied to others already online.

Re: Jobs, what to do?
Good news
I got a call from an agency. I'm going in next Tuesday, for a chance at a job for the Royal Bank of Scotland. It will be GOOD pay! I hope I get a job there. What will probably happen is, I'll go to the agency and they'll put me in touch with RBOS and I'll then get an interview. It's only 30 mins on the bus, so it's very handy (if I pass or not).
So excited
Wish me luck

Re: Jobs, what to do?
Sweet. So you're saying that with this job, it wont' matter if you pass or not because the commute is short?

Re: Jobs, what to do?
I'd drive if I pass, but otherwise the bus ride is half an hour, which is ok
