Feeling VERY disappointed....and have to share! *UPDATED 07/12*
So the house I really liked is now let and I knew instintively it would be!!
I have spent everyday from the moment we viewed this property visualising how it would look after I have applied my interior design efforts, I even jotted a few ideas down....the reason we didn't let it ourselves is because my DH wanted to view somemore properties, so ok you might very well be sat there agreeing with my hubby that's fair enough but my arguement is we've moved 6 times in 7 years, in that time we have viewed tons of houses and after a while you start to get a feel of what they are going to look like on the inside from just looking at the outside.
There has been a delay on viewing the 'other' houses as apparently staff were ill and they couldn't fit in any viewings, we are viewing 2 houses this Thursday and hoping to view at least 1 more when the current tenants actually give the go ahead to the agent.....but NONE of them are as big as the house I really liked, the babies would have had a bedroom each, Rich would have had a really lovely large office downstairs and I would have had a large living room with a seperate dining area...trust me houses to rent in the UK like this are rare, Rich was hesitant cos the kitchen was small and the bathroom although a white suite was an older style...so what! I said but he is quite picky!! (compliment to me I guess!)
So the search continues...and the chances of moving before Christmas is getting slimmer and slimmer, I know especially Holi will probably say it's fate and something better is waiting for us but still I am upset and annoyed, I could have made that house a home, it had good vibes about it!
Wish us luck that at least 1 of these houses will be up to scratch!!
Thanks for letting me moan.............I feel so much better to get it off my chest!!

of course you can rant away darling, good to get it out. e=we were also told this house was rented,we didnt have the money in time,I gave up,yet when Icalled back 2 weeks later to check...she said it was available (in the mean time,Chuck had been driving by the house everyday visualising that he was 'driving home') We got a call to say we were approved for the credit check (which worried me coz it was awful)Then our landlord approved our application, and within a week we were moved in,against all odds. Maybe you don't get the house...but one thing I can tell you is...everything will be fine...allow yourself today to be dissapointed, but tommorow..back on it

One day we were riding horses near our stable, and rode past a new house just finished. I looked at it and said I am going to live there someday, and everyone laughed at me. Two years later when we decided to move and buy horse property guess what house was for sale. BUT the negotiations fell apart and the seller took it off the market. Three months later it was back on the market and this time we bought it. We have lived here 10 years now!
Course the waiting to know what's going to happen is what gets you, especially when you have your heart set on something.
Good Luck.

Re: Feeling VERY disappointed....and have to share! *UPDATED 07/12*
I thoroughly understand your frustration! It was such a major pain for us to find a home in our price range and everything. We found an AMAZING one that was 2 stories, 3 bedrooms plus a huge loft upstairs, so hubby could have put his computer there and we'd have had the extra room. The price of the house even dropped down to $795.00 from $850.00 and we were so excited. BUT when we went back one last time to look at it, we discovered that the neighbors dogs barked NON STOP, and it would have driven me bloody crazy. The backyard was super small, so the adjoining walls were close and if felt like the dogs were barking right outside my window. I was gutted, but we found such a lovely home that is very close to my husband's work, and in a quiet neighborhood. No swimming pool, but I'm stealing the pool key to our old apartment complex's pool, and the complex isn't far away.
Just know that things don't work out for a reason, that you will indeed find a lovely home that you will enjoy, and make it your own.
Hugs honey! xxxxxx

Re: Feeling VERY disappointed....and have to share! *UPDATED 07/12*
It really does make me feel so much better for sharing my disappointment and then reading your replies so a sincere BIG thank you to you all
We are viewing 2 more houses today and we are on a waiting list to view 3 more properties, I think all 3 of which are available for viewings the first week of December so it'll mean we can't move in before Christmas which isn't ideal as yes you've guessed it we would be moving just after Christmas when I am ready to 'POP'.
I phoned up about another property today which looks nice (3 bed) and the agent asked me if we had any children under 7, she advised (even though the advert doesn't state this) the landlady is a bit funny about young children because they draw on the walls etc.....ummmmmm excuse me but NOT all children draw on the bloody walls, so ok Theo did draw on the wall LMAO in this house with a pencil (thankfully) but I just felt it was a bit rude to assume that 'all' parents i.e. us!! have no control over young children..tut..tut!!! She's gunna get back to us to whether we can view it or not.

Well here in the states we have an amazing product called "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser."
My mom mailed me some when I was in London, after my step-son colored with permanent marker all over the laminate flooring. It worked straight away. So if that landlord gives you any grief, tell her that your friend will mail you some Mr. Clean magic eraser!!! LOL

Good luck looking at homes, I hope you get the one you want!!!

Re: Feeling VERY disappointed....and have to share! *UPDATED 07/12*
So this could be the one I will admit the style of the house on the outside isn't fantastic but on the inside it makes up for it. It's the middle house in the picture basically the black drain pipes run down either side of the house so although it's in the middle it's actually the biggest house of the 3 if that makes sense?? there is open fields and a play park just to the left of the house (you can just see a corner of the play park in that pic) 3 bed brand new property, yes the kids will have to share but the bedrooms are bigger than what we currently have so that would be fine, the lounge is lovely and big with a huge storage cupboard and the kitchen although not massive can accommodate a small table and chairs, there is a garage and off road parking and a very bland but easily managable enclosed garden. Rich loves it, I still think that the older house had more benefits BUT this house is new so it is kinda nice knowing the kitchen and bathroom are un-used
We have provisionally said we would like to rent it , we were the first people to view it and I don't doubt at all it will go quick so we couldn't hesitate especially since there were more viewings booked for it today...just finding out if we can have it slightly cheaper than advertised and we NEED to confirm when we can move in so 'trying' to pin down our current agent to discuss this. It looks like it would be possible to move in a week before Christmas though
Wish us luck cos we have a few hurdles to get over i.e. credit checks and landlords permission for us to have cats!!

Looking for houses that can be a home can be really difficult. I am so glad you found one that will work. I am definitely going to have to try and get back here to see how things are working out for you.

Re: Feeling VERY disappointed....and have to share! *UPDATED 07/12*
Well as most of you have seen on FB we have been accepted for the house subject to referencing/credit checks which I don't forsee any issues with so the house is ours! We have to find £2000 though which is not easy this side of Christmas and going on maternity leave but I have worked out our sums and we can do it! I am really excited and have already reserved a stunning brand new fireplace (electric) ready for January delivery
I will still KUP on the progress!!! x

Georgi,
That's a nice house. Are "planters" little garden plots? I hope you get it.

Re: Feeling VERY disappointed....and have to share! *UPDATED 07/12*
I know!! Well we know that they have been requesting references for us as our current letting agent said they had received a call and also the reference agency phoned Rich and asked for some more information regarding his accountant....but to date we haven't received any news to whether we've passed the checks or not! We both think it'll be tomorrow that we hear so as soon as we know I will let all of you know!! fingers crossed!!!! x x
