Just had to share.........
One of my good friends decided to take a pregnancy test after missing about 3-4 weeks ago. it was a .
Was a bit of a shock to her but she was happy, came round asking me the 101 questions about pregnancy which was fine, like when to get a midwife, when ya get scans, feel baby move, supplements the list was endless.
so lastnight she rings me, saying she has got some really bad pains in her tummy and has startd spotting a bit, i was really worried so told her to ring hospital and tell her she was coming in to get checked. I hadnt heard from her so assumed everything was fine. I got a ph call at 4am this morning (started panicking as ya do at that time of the morning, automatically was expecting bad news about someone!)
Anyway, was my friend, she had given birth to a healthy 7lb8oz wee girl after a 7 hour labour!
So today we are all busy getting babystuff organised for her. She only missed one and we seriously thought she was at the start of her pregnancy as she didnt gain a pound, i asked how she didnt feel the baby move but apparantly it was because of where the placenta was. Still trying to get my head around it so i cant imagine what is going through her mind!
Off to go see her shortly! very excited!

Re: Just had to share.........
OMG, what an incredible story! Recently I was discussing this show on TLC about "I didn't know I was pregnant" and I'm in disbelief...how can you not know? Well, here's a real life example of it!
Wow I bet she's really overwhelmed right now....talk about a surprise!

Re: Just had to share.........
OMG indeed! only 2 nights ago I read a real life story about a women who thought she just had heartburn and it was infact labour, she never missed a period and didn't even show as she had a tilted uterus, totally amazing!!! Congratulations to your friend I hope she deals with the shock of this well!
Re: Just had to share.........
Wow,these storiesalways amaze me.I have to ask ,even if it's rude ( you can tell me oto piss off) Is your friend 'larger' than usual or is she slim? I had a rear tilting uterus and when I was preg with my first,I didn't show at all till I was 7 months and then I didn't get huge BUT,at the end,I could tell and so could everyone else, with the dark line on the belly, the alien like movements from within and...the bloody great bump in the mirror. He was less than 6 lbs when he was born and I didn't get huge but I am always astounded to know that people can be so pregnant without knowing...ALL the symptoms I am stunned LOL
Re: Just had to share.........
Holi, on the TV show I saw most of the women were larger and most had irregular cycles as well. One lady even had TWINS! But one young lady was quite slim and was even on birth control (but had taken antibiotics). She gained about 10lbs but said she wasn't obviously pregnant looking.
Mum, curious how your friend is doing!

Re: Just had to share.........
Yeah the lady I read about looked a bit round in the pictures, it says that she gained 5 lbs but it doesn't say how far along she was when she gave birth, it does say that the baby was 6lbs 8ozs, she said that she felt no kicking and her belly wasn't firm like it would be in pregnancy!
There is a programme on Discovery Home & Health June 8th dedicated to women who have had babies without realising they were even pregnant, it says "From having a baby on a bathroom floor, to a hen party that turned into a baby shower!!"
