Orlando Vacation
OK. I'm finally able to update you on my vacation to Orlando. The trip was coordinated by my 19 year old sister, Brittany. She wanted our family and her boyfriend(of like 5 years) to go to Orlando. She did a great job on accommodations. We stayed at a vacation house in Davenport, FL, about 15 minutes from Disneyworld. The house was great. It had 6 bedrooms, and 5 1/2 bathrooms, pool and jacuzzi(which I'll talk about a little later), gameroom in the garage with pool table, foosball, and air hockey. Each adult had to pay $250, which included house stay, groceries for meals(another story here), and gas for driving around out there. My sister thrives on being a control freak, which I didn't know until this trip. Overall, things went great considering you had thirteen people, 3 of which were kids, two(actually 3, but that's another story) different families. But one cannot expect that many people to adhere to a strict schedule/itinerary. But, that's what Brittany did. She got upset when no one wanted to go to Disneyworld cause it started raining, so we decided to go bowling instead. She got so upset, she stayed behind while the rest of us went(big dummy). And it was a blast.
**Insert** Not only did Brittany's boyfriend's mom and stepdad go on the trip, but her boyfriend's father went too(how odd is that). Also, her boyfriend's brother went and brought his girlfriend too. The girl was 17, and her mom almost didn't let her go. We can all guess why the mom almost didn't let her go. And things that went down explain the mom's hesitance. Brittany assigned rooms very well. Well the 17 year old girlfriend and boyfriend(who is 20) pretty much kicked his father out of his room(the man actually slept on the sofa 2 of the 7 nights we were there) so they could have a room together. Something was said to them, but it didn't seem to help. Just trifling!!!!**
Finally, she accepted that things weren't going to go EXACTLY as she envisioned them. It actually took us three days to get to Disneyworld cause of the rain, but we finally went, and it was cool. I don't ride the rides, so I knew I wouldn't love it, but it was cool watching the kids enjoy themselves, although I didn't get to take them to magic kingdom cause no one else wanted to go, and I know that I could not have handled two little toddlers and Jadah by myself. But, overall, it was cool. Jadah got her courage up to ride the Tower of Terror, then failed miserably. My sister and them left her up there with the staff while they rode it, then they all came down. Jadah had gotten scared at the last minute, didn't ride it, and the staff kept her with them and made her an honorary cast member. My sister took pictures of her in a bellhop costume. It's so freaky funny, cause she didn't smile in any of the pictures. So the rest of the week was kind of chill. We went to play putt putt, but quit after hole 3 cause it was just too hot. The guy was really nice and gave us a raincheck voucher to come back any time we wanted. So we went and ate and came back once it cooled down(and it was a huge difference in temperature). We still ended up quitting cause it was taking too long with all of us trying to play and still have two little kids getting in everyone's way while trying to putt(it was kind of cute though, but i'm a mom and have to say that ) I also found out how cheap Brittany is. She was offered the option of having the pool heated and decided against it since it was an extra $135(split 10 ways is not that much) and opted not to. But, she didnt realize that opting out also meant opting out of heating the jacuzzi, so we had a useless jacuzzi, and a pool that many of us would only swim in during the hottest part of the day so that sun would heat it some. Then we adults decided to go to the casino. Brittany's boyfriend doesn't like to gamble so refused to go, then she got upset and didn't really want to go. I persuaded her by offering to give her $40 to play with. The cow then asked me, "well what happens if I win?" I told her that I wouldn't ask for my money back, and it would be up to the kindness in her heart if she were willing to give me anything. So, we women were the only ones to go. We drove my mom's trailblazer up there about an hour away. I drove. I gave Brit the money. I started winning, and kept winning(I play table games, no slots for me!) I even gave my mom $50. As the night wore on, Brit won about $300. My mom was losing. When Brittany either got tired of playing, or was scared of losing her money back, she was ready to go. That's fine, I can understand not wanting to lose your winnings. But, you're with other people, and if the majority is not ready, then you have to suck it up, and wait. Well, not my little sister. She rode my mom's back so hard. She kept saying stuff like "how much are you going to lose, ma?" I kept playing and kept winning. Her boyfriend's mom stayed incognito. It took us forever to find her everytime we looked. My mom was so pissed at Brittany. I'm sure losing probably didn't help either. I won almost a grand that night. I ended up giving my mom a total of $100 on the night. And guess what, Brittany gave her nothing, and didn't not offer to give me my $40 back(trifling hussy), but whatever, I was on vacation and was determined not to let anyone ruin it(which no one ever did). The trip continued with more ups than downs. Jayden stayed beating up Brianna(my niece) until I showed Brianna how to hit her back. Then she started hitting Jayden for no reason. I know some of you may disagree with promoting violence in little kids. But, I just got so sick and tired of hearing the little girl whine everytime Jayden even came close to her cause she was so scared. And I strongly believe kids will be kids. They fight with each other as hard as they play together, and most of the time they can resolved their own problems better than we can. And you know what, it worked. Most of the time, Jayden didn't care if Brianna hit her, she would just look at her and keep it moving. Sometimes she'd cry, but the whining was cut down to a minimum, and they were able to play better. On to the night before we were all scheduled to leave, Brittany's boyfriend, who is stationed in Japan by the way, had not even booked a flight back . The guy didn't have a passport cause he had flown on a military flight to get here, but couldn't return that way cause his leave papers were all jacked up with expired leave date on them. So, he was forced to take a chance with a commercial flight with no passport. Because he had waited until the last minute, his one way flight back to Japan, with a military discount, was $630. Guess what? The dummy didn't have it. His dad wired him some money and he had some, but that only came to like 350. So, I loaned him(from my winnings, thank God) $400. But, I went to sleep when he left to get the money his dad wired him. So, I didn't know when his flight left. I knew that I had to get up for 4am to be ready to leave by 4:30. Something told me to just check on him before I was ready. And the dummy was still alseep knowing his flight left at 6:55, and we were 35 minutes from the airport. He moved so slow. He almost made me miss my flight. I wanted to choke him. Luckily, we both made our flights, and the airline didn't give him a hard time about not having a passport(scary, huh?) Like I said, overall, it was a great trip. One with ups and downs, but mostly ups. We're planning on making this a yearly thing, so we'll see how it goes next year. They're thinking about a cruise.. it might work!!!

Re: Orlando Vacation
wow MsCherry, that sounds like a trip! You're a brave woman, lol. My husband and I decided years ago we could not/would not vacation with other people. We wanna do what we wanna do when we wanna do it! We would not get along with Brittany, lol. Did your future hubby go on this trip too? How did Jayden do on the plane?

Re: Orlando Vacation
Wow, mscherry - what a trip!! I did read your description yesterday, but didn't have time to respond. I would also have a hard time traveling and vacationing with so many different people. Hats off to all of you that you all did not get into huge fights. But, I did see your pictures and those looked like you guys had a great time.
