Questions about day care.
I know some of you already use day care and I just wanted a bit of advice reassurance really. Molly is finally going to go to daycare in just over a week as me and husband are now getting very tired of working opposite to one another and hardly seeing each other. Molly is very sociable and has been left on the odd occasion and got on really well. We have booked her in for four days a week but I'm scared that it seems a lot and wondered how this may affect her feelings towards me. We have a great bond and I don't want that to be spoilt and for her to feel I am leaving her all the time. She will be picked up at 4pm every day so I will get time with her before bed and there may be some weeks that she doesn't have to go 4 days if dh is off but then if I chop and change her days every week that could be even more disruptive.
I suppose I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance really as I'm quite nervous about this. It's a great nursery www.gosportnursery.com Please let me have your thoughts on this one!

Re: Questions about day care.
galaxy,
With Jadah, my first daughter, she went to daycare at a very early age due to necessity. And it is my firm belief that that is why she is so social now, and why she started talking very well at such an early age. They tend to learn quicker and better from their peers(whether it is something good or bad). Now, due to our schedules now, Jayden has never gone to regular "structured" daycare. We've had inhome babysitters, but she was never around more than 1 or 2 kids at most. I feel that her milestones have been much slower than Jadah's. That's not saying she's not as smart as Jadah was, but there are just some things that she was slower to catch onto, and I think it's because she wasn't able to see other little kids doing it. Now, as for your relationship with her, believe me, it will not suffer. She may become more independent and rely on you less, but your bond will always be there.

Sorry so quick Emma, but I left thane at 4 months old at a daycare, and he did great! I now have a nanny that comes 4 days a week, and even though he enjoys her and they get a long great, when Mommy comes thru the door, there is no mistaking the LOVE he has ONLY for me!!!!!!! Sometimes i get worried too, as any mother would, but there is no one like us and no one would ever take our place!!! XXXXX

Thanks Ginny and mscherry, it does make me feel a little better. It is interesting that it seems to help there development. I am hoping Molly will do well there, she is already social and has good language skills so maybe it will be good stimulation for her.
