Anyone good with Photoshop?
I'm trying to set up my "studio" on a website called Artfire.com so I can list some of the jewelry pieces I've been making. In my opinion, the whole setup process could be easier for newbies!
Anyway a "banner" at the top of the page is required, yet they don't give you any preset templates to even start from. I did find some basic instructions on Google using Photoshop. I'm still having trouble though (I lack the specific creative element for this!) and was wondering if anyone could help me. I'd really appreciated it!
I see this as a quick and easy project for someone with more creative genius than me and with a better understanding of Photoshop (or other graphic design program).
If anyone is willing to help, please let me know -- PM me if you want to keep it private. I'd be willing to do a little bartering and make you a special something in return for your help.
Here's a link to the instructions I found.

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
Beth,
here are two banners I made for you. Have a look and decide what you like and what you don't like, what colors you would like, what you would like added, etc. That way I get a better idea of what you like and what would fit with your jewelry and your web page.

Cool! I think I like the top one best but maybe something to make the words pop a bit more?
Anyone else have any opinions?
THANKS!

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
Beth, I will work on it sometime today and will try to include any other suggestions you or anybody else might have in the meantime.

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
Beth, here are a couple more versions. The first two are variations on the one that you liked. The third one is something completely else to show you what else is possible (this time with glitter text). Let me know what you think.

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
The top two look the same to me? But I'm not see the whole thing either so maybe the differences are on the right side?

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
yes, just the outline around the heart is different. Sorry, not a huge difference.

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
Beth -- can you never see the whole banner? I can see the whole thing in Mozilla, but cut off in IE. Let me know if you have never seen them whole, I will send them to you or you can just download them to your computer.

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
ah ha! I usually keep my screen settings at both work and home fairly large because I'm nearsighted. Made them smaller and wha-la! There's the whole thing, lol.

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
Ok, had to go back and look at everything (now that I can actually see it all!). I like the top one of the last post but think that Heart needs to be spelled out, so I'm not sure how that all works out. I like the background of the fuscia one but not so much the glittery letters, or at least the animated part of the glitter letters.

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
Beth, I can do the first one of the second set with 'heart' spelled out (it will look a little different) and try something with the fuchsia one, if you'd like.
Here are a couple of questions that might help me make a banner that you really like:
- text straight or on a bend?
- text black, outlined, color, etc.?
- background (one of the two I had used, or another one, specify - you can also send a picture that you would like to use at background)
- anything else you'd like to see on it or not see on it

Re: Anyone good with Photoshop?
Gosh, I hate to be changing things when you're doing me such a favor! I guess the very first one is most appealing to me overall if you could spell out Heart, put a heart graphic in somewhere, and maybe outline the test or do something to make it stand out more/give it more contrast.
I used to work in public relations/publishing and I got really spoiled because I worked with great graphic artists -- I just let them use their own vision to fit my copy or article. I didn't have to come up with my own ideas! I don't have the artist vision for this, lol.
Thanks!
