Hiding Christmas presents?
How do you hide Christmas presents from your SO? Usually I manage to hide things in a cabinet (it's an old dry sink, if you know what that is) where I also keep craft supplies. Or else in the back of my closet.
But today I had a problem. I ordered new motocross pants and a gear bag for him. The boxes came today, and I was shocked to see one of the boxes was HUGE! The gear bag was quite a bit bigger than I expected (but that's good actually), but now I had a problem of where to hide it since my house (and closets) is quite small. So, I hid it in plain sight! I sealed up the box, took it to the basement, and put it on a table near my laundry area. I always have stuff piled there and use the area to put other gifts until I wrap them. I then piled other boxes and stuff on top of the box. He doesn't go downstairs too much anyway so I'm guessing he'll never see it! LOL!
I stuffed the motocross pants, a set of long underwear, and a pair of lounge pants into the dry sink cabinet and discovered I already had two DVD sets hidden there for him! I completely forgot I had gotten those months ago!
So where do you hide gifts from your SO?

Re: Hiding Christmas presents?
heh i wrap them as soon as i get them, he wont peek so i can wrap em and leave em anywhere and they are safe. either that or i will just leave them in the trunk of my car, or put them somewhere he will never look, like one of my dresser drawers, or by the laundry machine LOL!
Re: Hiding Christmas presents?
So I have aplan this year which is to use layway, itr has come back in a big style since the crash of the economy especially with sears/kmart.Something like %15 down then pay them every 2 weeks. They keep it for you until whenever, christmas eve or a few days before or whenever. Thats my plan of attack this year
Re: Hiding Christmas presents?
I hide things wherever I can cram them and last year I got burned by this because I hid things and then forgot about them!
I found two presents for Owen AFTER Christmas - and I didn't even need to hide them from him!!!!!
So, I think I'm going to use layaway too this year and try to keep everything else together in one spot (maybe under my guest room bed)

Re: Hiding Christmas presents?
Lou Lou, I did that too. Apparently last Xmas I bought Jadah a game for her Nintendo DS. Yeah, I forgot about it indefinitely. She just happened to be playing a game in the car last week and said she found it under the seat of my car! I burst out laughing and told her that it must have been her Xmas present from last year, almost a whole year later!! So, I will NOT be buying things too far away from Xmas this year. But, because we're getting Jadah a trampoline for her birthday next month, Xmas will be a "lighter" affair. And SO wants small stuff that won't take long to find and buy, so I'll wrap those.

Re: Hiding Christmas presents?
Any big gift we buy between the two of us so there is no reason to hide that gift so everything else is either clothing, PS3 Games, Slippers the usual stuff. We go Christmas Shopping for each other at the same time and just split up in the Mall, I take the top floor, DH takes the main level and then we text each other when we are done and switch, but not before we separately take the stuff we got so far out to the car. He takes the Trunk and I take the back seat and cover it with a blanket (we know not to look). Anyways when we come home we have always used the same spots to hide each others gifts. I go in first with his and hide them downstairs in the spare bedroom and then he brings in mine and hids them in a huge Tote in the basement.
There aren't too many places in the house I can't go with cleaning and such but he has no reason to go into the spare room so it works good for us.
Usually we eve take the same day to wrap each others gifts. We turn on some Christmas music and DH wraps in the Living Room and I wrap in the Dining Room. Works great every year and makes it funner to do together.
Oppps, sorry you didn't ask for our whole Christmas run down did you.... lmao

Re: Hiding Christmas presents?
lol, I find that sweet and funny how you do things Leeaman! I do all the wrapping in my house and sometimes even wrap his presents (in plain boxes) right in front of him without knowing! It's funny when he realizes that, lol.
24P, I see a theme here....our men don't do laundry!
I remember my mom doing layaway at Sears and other places when I was a kid. I've heard it was making a come back. Probably better than doing the credit card thing if you don't have the cash right away.

lol.. Yeah everything else we have as gifts for everyone else I get the joy of wrapping myself, but I don't mind as long as I have my Christmas music and Egg Nog I am good to go.. lol
Talk about wrapping DH's gifts right in front of him in plain boxs, my Mom use to put all our presents in boxes and tape them down and get my sister to wrap them all and my sister wouldn't even realize she was wrapping her own gifts as well.. lol My Mom Hated to wrap.. Now she has no choice that all her kids are gone from the nest.. lol

lol.. Sorry that it scared you.. It still scares me as well.. lol
I have no clue how it was done. My hubby has become a real pro with using Photoshop and other programs for making Siggy's and Avatars so I just told him what video I wanted and the song and he used a couple different programs to throw it together.
