Re: Who Does The Housework?
hey i LOVED planning my wedding too, we had prob around 120 guests it was gorgeous!!! i will post photos too when i get a chance xo
also in regards to house work- now that oi am home i do everything too, but hubby is good and does all the gardens etc and sometimes tidies the kitchen and will bath Kyrah a couple of nights a week and get up to her sometimes ( she doesnt wake at night often) and he plays with her but sometimes i have to ask to have 1/2 hour to myself too. xo

Re: Who Does The Housework?
Dont ya just hate having to ask them for time out? I have to ask hubby to look after the kids if i want to go to the supermarket just to get 1 or 2 things, i dont see why i have to ask him to look after his own kids! it seems like they are mine when they need things doing like fed, bathed bed, sick, nappy etc but they are ours when buying things for them such as gifts or when it comes to going to his family, very strange!

Re: Who Does The Housework?
Well, the man and I aren't married and don't live together. BUT he does clean my house. He's off in the winter time so I've come home to a perfectly clean house and even the basement has been cleaned and rearranged!
He often cleans my house. The only thing he doesn't do is cook, and that's fine and well.
I hope this doesn't end in the future. I kinda like coming home to a clean house!

Re: Who Does The Housework?
New here. Hi.
My DF is rare, he told me last night that I should be grateful(in a joking manner) that I have a man that does the dishes, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, pretty much everything that needs done, he does. We both work full time, crazy schedules. The difference is that I don't clean house on the days that I work, and he does. I need to straighten up cause I think I've gotten spoiled. This week, he's working days(6am-3pm), so he gets home and gets the girls until I get home at 6:30pm. Yesterday when I got home, he took my clothes off of me, and made me clothes my eyes and walk into our bedroom, alone! When I opened my eyes, he had rose petals trailed all the way to our bathroom with rose petals and daisies in a nice hot bubble bath. It was so unexpectedly awesome! I thank God for this man. I need to ensure that I do the things needed to keep him(get back in shape and clean more)..shouldn't be too hard, right?!
It's a big step up from the loser exhusband I will say that.

Re: Who Does The Housework?
thanks, Ladies. What's funny is that he knows I post on my parenting forums, so he was like "Are you going to tell your lady friends how good I did today?"

Maybe I should start telling my hubby that I am going to post what he 'didn't' do on here and he might buck his ideas up!

Re: Who Does The Housework?
mscherry.
I am speechless! All I will say,I must tell hubby about yours,he thinks men dont do that stuff andif they do they are pussies who dont work.I am outraged bythis anddisagree,I am hoping there will be many more examples like yours that I can show him so he can eat his words and maybe take heed.

Re: Who Does The Housework?
He is a correctional officer, and works out and is very manly if I may say so. He will tell anyone that his mom taught him not be nasty. If you see something needs done, do it, don't walk over it. The only thing he doesn't do are Jayden's laundry cause her pieces are too small and the toilets, just because he never thinks about it when cleaning.

Re: Who Does The Housework?
I agree mscherry, its not a question of masculinity (btw,I admire your hubby even more for what he does, couldnt pay me enough),more a question,oh helping the one you love (in this case,me)Dont get me wrong,he does once a week maybe do the dishes in the dishwasher and crush the cans for us,put out trash SOMETIMES and or mow the lawn.Apart from that steps out of his clothes ,leaves there, never wipes pee off te toilet when he gets it there.I am messy too BUT when theres a big clean up,I do 97%,he never cooks co he cant,n doesnt want to.
I know why this is,his mother and gma treat him (still) like a god.He walks in their house and offer him food/drinks.when we stay there,he takes off his clothes in the bathroomm to bathe, then walks out leaving them on the floor, gma walks in a picks up clothes, put them straight in the washer. He wakes up,gets out of bed,she makes it.Its this eternal servitude attitude to men that I can do.He wants to be able to work so I can stay home.He said that if I work,he wants it to be coz I WANT to ,this is very sweet.(I am a SAHM) btw, with a 4 yr old n a newborn,I childmind 2 other kids in the week.I am from the uk and awaiting my work permit (this is why I have not yet been able to get a real job since I have been in the states.
Anyway,I love that he loves his job and wantsto provide finacially which he does very well.He has also recently started working from home. Before he had a 2 hour commute each way, which excuses him more from houseworkBut now he is home most days,I STILL have to ask him to watch the baby while I have a shower,he gets this pissed off look on his face,Like I am asking him to get the moon for me,I do all the laundry, cooking (although I dont cook all the time) and bill paying, financial management, which I try and do,its hard for me coz I am not great with maths!
Anyway enough of my complaining, but you can see why I am a little jealous.I love my hubby for who he is,however I do sometimes need more help/support and it makes me resentful that I dont get it.
