Re: I am watching the...
Well the thing with the poison (at least the kind we have) is that it dehydrates them so they will leave the house in search of water. My DH's family all live out in the country so they have mice and they all use it and I've never heard of that happening, maybe we're talking about two different things?? Ew, I would not want a dead mouse in my house!

lol, after hearing that from helen i suppose my mom is just luck the cat brought her a whole mouse on her pillow and not just bits and pieces!!! ewwwww.
Re: I am watching the...
My cat only tortures it until it pretty much dies naturally. The first one I found had no marks on it, just found it under the cabinet in the bathroom. The second time, looks like Pepa got claw marks into it's body, but was all in one piece.
I think we never got mice before because we have had stray cats living outdoors for a few years and used to kill them and leave the bits on our doorstep as a gift (nothing left of the mouse, eww) and this year we have no more stray cats, they all died and now we are getting mice in our house, guess we need to start feeding some stray kitties, lol!!
Also I have heard that once some die off from a cat killing them, they learn to leave on their own, so I guess having my cats is a good thing I had that happen with ants, they are smart suckers!! The were all in my cupboards this summer and I just killed them one by one and all of a sudden there were fewer until there was none left. I didn't know that and bought ant traps anyways, but none came back to use them. Maybe I killed the entire ant family on my own, lol!!!
I can't wait to get our kitchen renovated, then we'll be done with mice, moles and ants!!

Re: I am watching the...
Years ago we used to have mice in our office, it's in the middle of no-where, just surrounded by fields so mice are always a problem. The first year it happened we put poison down and it really upset me. We found loads of dead mice, usually under heaters where it was warm! We found one that wasn't dead yet but was obviously dieing and it just sat there looking at us. I felt so sad.
The following year I wouldn't let my boss put poison down because I said it was cruel and not nice finding dead mice everywhere. Well we managed to get over run by the damn things! This is why I now hate mice
Urgh they were everywhere
