Mother of the Year...
I just had to share that I should REALLY get the Mother of the Year Award!
Thane and I were playing outside and there was a honey bee that was a little too close to him (its actually a huge bush filled with bees!!!!). So I was like "NO!!!!!!" And I wisked him up in the air and tried to sit him back down away from the bush...well he wasn't quite on his feet yet and he fell face first with a face plant in the concrete driveway I feel so bad. His hand is skinned up and his lip was bloody...
GOOD JOB GINNY!!!!! As Blaine always says sarcastically

Re: Mother of the Year...
Oh Ginny honey it's obviously not funny but it's the way you tell it!! Poor Thane! He'll be alright your concern was getting him away from the bee's!
Your picture in your siggy is GORGEOUS!!!! I really love that one (I wonder if I can draw it! )
Hey I went this morning and got back to find that Theo has a MASSIVE lump on the back of his head, Rich said that he fell backwards and hit his head on the floor. Funny how when Theo hurts himself with Daddy it's just brushed under the carpet but if it's with Mummy it is bcos I wasn't watching him!! Arrgghhh!!

Re: Mother of the Year...
Dude,I think the award should go to me,before we left,I watched in horror as baby girl pulled herself up on her chest of drawers, the drawers opened and the top of the dresser ( a big heavy flat piece of wood) the WHOLE thing fell on top of her.She was fine but...not good. :S
Re: Mother of the Year...
ooooh! This is a good thread......ok...... here goes.....
I deserve Mommy of the Year because the night DH and I decided to lower Owen's crib to keep him from falling out I sat him in the rocking chair in his room and while we were taking the bed apart he FELL OUT OF THE ROCKING CHAIR FACE FIRST ONTO THE FLOOR!!!!!!
See Ginny, it's not just you!
I'm sure Thane appreciates the fact that you tried to save him from the bee!!!!!!
hugs!

Re: Mother of the Year...
thx nicki!!!
BUT...i have struck again
I was trying to get ready for mine and Thane's FL trip this weekend and i left him in his supposedly baby proofed room...
well i heard his screaming from across the house and went running to get him and he was bent in half with his head down in his laundry basket, trying to get an OLLLLLDDD cheerio that has been down there for months (i have seen it but too lazy to get it out :S ) and his little legs were flyingin the air while his head was down in the basket and he was just STUCK!! Poor thing. oh he was squalling he is fine though, and i got the cheerio out of his mouth too

Re: Mother of the Year...
Oh Ginny, I am sorry to hear that. But they will get into anything no matter how hard you watch them and how baby-proofed everything is. It is amazing to see what they do for an old cheerio though......lol - Kian would sooooo do the same thing. He loves his cheerios, too.
But seriously, we have all done things like that. Oh boy, here comes a bad story: once (maybe 1 month ago) I nursed Kian at night in my bed and when he was done and had fallen asleep, I picked him up to bring him back to his bed and going through the door I bumped his head against the frame......he woke and screamed - I felt soooo bad.

Re: Mother of the Year...
Well,
I know I'm in the bid for it. DF and I were putting together our new BBQ grill, and Jayden had been walking around trying to "help" here and there. Well, we had one of the pieces laying on top of Jadah's gymnastics balance beam. Just as Jayden came walking under the beam to come by me, I dropped the metal piece right on her face. It scratched right by her eye. My baby had a long scratch and a slight bruise on her face for hours. I felt so bad. Luckily, she cried for a few minutes, then was fine.
