Share Your Child's Daily Routine! Empty Share Your Child's Daily Routine!

Post  Lou Lou Sun Sep 28, 2008 11:13 pm

I would love to see what a typical day and night for your baby looks like.

Up until a few weeks ago I had Owen on a great routine (not a schedule) but since he decided not to nap in his crib we have been all over the place. We were doing things on a 2 1/2 hour schedule of eat, play, nap and then bed time at 9 but now the only thing we doing consistently is eat every 2 1/2 hours.

Would you guys mind sharing your routines with me?

Thanks!
LouLou

OK.

*Wake up time for the day: Between 6-7 a.m.

*Drink formula upon waking, eat rice cereal with fruit around 8:30 a.m.

*First nap- Begins between 9-10 am, she sleeps for usually and hour to an hour and a half.

*Solids again at 12:00 noon, rice cereal and a veg.

* Second nap begins anywhere between 12:30 p.m and 1:15 p.m. Lasts between 1 and 2 hours.

Rice cereal at 3:30 p.m

Sometimes she will take a third nap which begins around 4:30 p.m, but only if her afternoon nap was brief. This nap usually lasts about 30 minutes.

She starts her bath at 6 :15 p.m. She has her solids again around 6:45 p.m, I give her sweet potatoes and rice cereal.

She goes to sleep between 7 and 7:30 p.m, depending on whether or not she took the third nap that day.

She usually wakes for a feeding anywhere between 12 midnight and 1 a.m.

She wakes for another feeding anywhere between 4 and 5 a.m, depending on when she last ate.

Then she wakes again for the day between 6-7 a.m depending on when she went to sleep. She sometimes will sleep until 7:30 a.m, but not consistently.

I give her formula every time she wakes up from sleeping. I always give the formula before the solids.

Hope this helps you Smile/happy

6 - 6:30 am Lucy wakes up and gets first 4 oz bottle
9 - 9:30 am second bottle - 5 oz
12-12:30 noon third bottle - 5 oz
usually between 12 and 3 Lucy and I run any errands we have.
2:50 pm pick up big kids from school
3:00 pm fourth bottle - 5 oz
6:00 pm fifth bottle - 5 to 6 oz
8:30 - 9 pm sixth bottle - 4 oz

Sleep! Repeat.

During the day we don't have a nap routine, because I can't really get her to nap consistantly. We try after she eats, but she fights and fights it so cranky because she is exhausted.....most of the daytime sleep we get is in the truck while I am running errands.

Okay, let me see what Kian's routine is. It's a little hard for me to do since DH takes care of him when I work.

Here it goes - a routine when I am not at home. Of course the times are all approximate:

7:00 - 8:00 wakes up
7:45 - 8:00 nursing before I go to work
10:00 nap (anything between 15-45 minutes)
11:00 bottle of BM
1:00 short nap
2:00 bottle of BM
nap
5:00 nursing after I get home
8:00 bedtime routine
sleep / nap
after 5 when I am home I nurse him on demand. The nights - well, no schedule for him. He wants to nurse every 1-3 hours depending what type of night we have. Wink

Addy's Schedule

These are all approximate. If Addy wakes up later then everything is pushed back accordingly. This is what we have been doing for the last week or so but I'm sure if will change...

6:00-7:30 Wake Up (I am going to use 7 for the rest of the day just to keep things simple)
7 BF
9-10:30 Nap (Addy normally wakes up 20 min-45 min into nap, but goes back to sleep w/paci)
10:30 BF
12:30-2 Nap
2 BF
4-5:30 Nap
7:30-8 Start Bedtime routine when Addy is starting to get tired.
8 Bedtime (Addy may wake up but goes right back to sleep if we give her the pacifier)
10:30 BF-Dreamfeed
2:30 - 3:30 BF

Righ this is Kierans, hard for me to remeber exactly as his 3 year old brother can play up and change it all just like that! but 90% of the time it is....

8am-8.30am Wakes up, BF for 15 mins, change and kick on the floor.
9.20am, jesse and kierans story time courtesy of jesse the story teller!
9.30am nap time
11.30-12noon, wake up and BF 15-20mins, playtime, walk or anything that occupies the kids
3pm - nap time
6pm- wake up, BF for 15-20min,
7pm bath time
7.30- story time and jesses bedtime
7.45- BF for 15mins,
8pm BEDTIME
8p, omwards- MY TIME!!!
then start all over when kids wake up again, we pretty relaxed he feeds usually for 15 mins sometimes its longer sometimes its only 5 mins, the one thing that never changes in the routine with the times is morning nap, beth time and bedtime at night, everything else depends on what we are doing at the time.

Wish I had a routine,I find it a challenge to do anything the same.I have been told life would be so much easier with one for the kids at least. The only thing routine about our routine is his bedtime.

Share Your Child's Daily Routine! Empty Re: Share Your Child's Daily Routine!

Post  Bryony Tue Oct 07, 2008 4:08 pm

I'm now back at work full-time so here's Rowan's weekday routine.

5-5.30am wakes up and plays in her cot (I get up, showered and dressed). I have to alter this bit sometimes depending on how much she wants that morning bottle. Sometimes I feed her first then put her back to bed for a bit while I get ready.
6-6.30am Get her up and dressed
6.30am 5oz bottle
PLAY
7.15 leave for nursery

8am - Arrive at nursery. I go to work for the day!

At nursery...

8am - Breakfast (weetabix)
8.30am - Nap (she usually only sleeps max 1 hour at a time - she really needs this first nap of the day)
PLAY
10am - finger foods (fruit) followed by 8oz bottle
PLAY
12pm - Lunch (nursery provide)
1pm - Nap (but she rarely sleeps at this time now)
PLAY
3pm - Nap (45min-1 hour)
4PM - Dinner (Stage 2 Jar followed by a yogurt or fruit)
She is then changed ready for me to pick her up
4.30pm - Home time!

5.30pm - we arrive home
PLAY
6.15pm - bath time
6.30pm - 8oz bottle
6.45-7pm - bedtime till 5.30am (hopefully!)

We don't have a routine at the weekend. I just put her down to nap when she is tired and feed her when hungry. It also depends what we've got planned. I'm finding more and more though, that her routine at the weekend is following her nursery schedule which is understandable. Generally she will only have 2 naps a day of 1 hour each. However, sometimes she will have three. She has water from a sippy cup all day.
