How long did it take.....

For you to get pregnant?

I do remember most of you from when you were ttc the first time round BUT I have to confess I have forgotten the details. I know some of you took a while and some probably not so much. Could you all refresh my memory?

It took us 10 mths to get a BFP, but it was very faint and over the days that followed it got fainter, only for an extremely heavy and painful AF to arrive......my doctor discribed this as an 'early miscarriage' I would have been 5 wks pregnant.

2 months later I had the weirdest longest cycle with light bleeding more than once. I decided that if my temp remained high I would test and at 10dpo it was a BFP but at 14dpo it was a bright BFP.

So all in all it took us 12 mths. And the oddest thing is it was nearly 12 mths to the day that I had stopped taking the pill!

I had a huge long post and I'm kinda angry that it somehow disappeared. I'm not in the mood to tell the whole story again, but it took us about 6 months to conceive.

Long story short, I was having no period so we thought I couldn't get pregnant, went to DR, then referred to specialist, still not pregnant, then WHAM! ! Went back to DR/specialist, blood test came positive, did vaginal scan and found out that I had been pregnant all along and neither DR had detected this....hahahahaha.

it took us 15 months to fall pregnant, were about to start IVF due to male problems, but fell naturally

We decided to not be careful anymore and to see what would happen. We fell pregnant the first month.

7 Months, but then miscarried. Got pregnant immediately afterwards with Audrey.

26 months, the longest of my life................!!!!

Mine took 24 Mos. it was pretty long due to PCOS and MF ( Morph 7 %, Although RE doesn't think Morph had any effect on it)

4 months - ended in miscarriage and I became pregnant immediately after that.

I had the depo shot and it took FOREVER for things to get back to normal. I only had the shot one time, and it was 7 months before I even bled, and then I bled off and on for like 2 months. I lost the first pregnancy, it was awful, a very rare genetic problem with the fetus, and I believe the egg was damaged from the depo provera shot. I got pregnant with LM the first month that we really "tried", but I figured out that the only way for me to get pregnant quickly is to try everyday from 6 days after my period until Cycle day 19 or 20. If I just try around ovulation, I don't get pregnant straight off. It took me 4 months of trying when I conceived the baby that I miscarried.

two years, 24 cycles, to get this bfp, with severe endometriosis wrecking one of my tubes and spreading all over my insides, including cysts that made my ovaries 9cm & 7cm!!! a long surgery cleaned up most of it in February 2008, but it still took til last week to get my first ever bfp, and it was a natural cycle. counselling really made a difference to my overall stress levels & coping, it may have helped us conceive, or may not have had a role, but sure helped me.


now just hoping & praying this one sticks!!!!!!

I sure hope so Sapphire but in the mean time reading your story again has given me some hope

thanks Helen & Mel ... and honest, Mel, the past few months I had chosen to focus on trying to really truly believe that I would be okay even if we never conceived. For my own sanity I had to get to that place where I KNEW that my self-worth, identity, all of that, would be okay even if I never got pregnant. Coming to (slowly!) understand that gave me some sense of peace because I just didn't know if it would ever happen and I had to know I would be okay, otherwise where would that leave me? anyway - all that to say that it happened when I least expected it to, when I was focusing on everything else in my life and trying to take care of myself (for me, I can't say enough about how much the counselling helped me come to terms with all kinds of stuff to do with ttc but mostly in the rest of my life too). That's why it was such a shock. If it can happen for me in the most unlikely scenario, it CAN happen for you too honey.
