Tia-li's Birth Story July 12th 2008

Hey guys! ... Well I am very happy to share this with you as most of my journey has been on here!Thanks for all your kind comments and support!

So here's what happened (Please excuse the mistakes,I am a little tired,I havn't actually been to sleep yet so the last time I was asleep was...um....Oh I dont know..anyway,here goes...

Last night,around 7:30 pm,I began having little contractions,as I had false labour 2 days prior I was very skeptical and didnt want to make a fuss until I was sure.

I ignored them until they became uncomfortable and timeable...(8pm) Then I called my midwife and told her what was going on,as some of you know,I had planned a home birth with a birthing pool,and using self hypnosis (I have been practicing for weeks with CD's)

She asked how regular they were and if I had had a bloody show,at that point I hadn't but half an hour later I did.They were getting quite painful and I decided that this was it!

My mother is here and staying for the month ,she and my hubby set up the birthing pool and the room for our labour and put my little boy to bed.In the mean time,I was laying on the couch timing my contractions and listening to my hypnosis cd.

At about 11pm (So my mum tells me) my contractions became 3 mins apart and very strong and my hypnosis lost it's focus for me and I was no longer able to use it ( I feel I kinda failed myself here)

Anyway,the midwife arrived,checked me and said I was 5-6 cms and doing well.I laboured in the pool and on the floor,slowly (much to my dissapointment) my moans became screams and groans.We were worried that I would wake my little boy.(Luckily he slept through)I was in agony,the contractions were SO strong and so close together,I wasn't getting a break really.By about 2am,I needed to pee and poop badly,but couldnt even make it to the toilet I was so uncomfortable,Throughout this all,hubby was quite horrified at the amount of pain I seemed to be in and the fact that he couldnt help,but he held my hand at the end when i was pushing and screaming.When her head came out,I was in so much pain I was crying and begging the midwife to 'get her out!' She did her best to help but in the mean time I felt like I was being ripped apart fromt he inside out to the upside down!

At 3:39am she popped into the world(water) and was gently brought to the surface and my hubby was the first to hold her while my mother cut the cord.Everyone was oohing and ahhing but myself,having made sure she was in good hands,I just wanted to colapse.

So I did it,the all natrual birth,it's doable,and possible but yes I won't lie,it was agony and at sevral points I didn't think I could do it!Srill we did,now we're fine!

Anyway thats the brief version.I know its still long,but there are more deats I will add later,mainly wanted to tell you guys how it went,(my waters didnt break till I was 9cm's and the midwife did it for me)

Amazing! I was sitting here clenching my legs while reading this You are one strong woman Holi! Kudos for you on doing this! Can you believe how much time has passed since? xx

LOL!I cant believe it.BUT I did notice that I have already posted my birth story and for some reasomn thought I hadn't they'd better alert the public when I go out on the roads! Woooo! DUH! LOL
