DM, that's really great you've been able to get so many answers. Hormone levels are crazy things and I'm glad that it seems you will be feeling better in no time (and already are starting to feel better!)

Nika - Congrats on your niece. Hope they stop jerking your sister around with her back - that is awful.

BethG - I have a progesterone cream and a DHEA supplement, as well as another supplement that deals with stress.

Angel - thanks. My husband scoffs at some of the things I do but I look at it as the chinese have been practicing these things for thousands of years - they have to have value. I am not about to tell him the way I discovered the gi issue was a person who is an 'intuative' told my mom she knew what my problem was - and hey, she was right. Which is more than I can say for either dr I was bouuncing back and forth between.

Our dog, Smalls, almost died on Friday. If Jadah and her friend hadn't asked to go into the backyard and play with him, he just might have died. They came running to the front yard saying his eyes were red. I figured they were like pink or something. Nope, his irises were blood red. I made them stay back cause I don't know what a rabid dog looks like, but wasn't taking chances. Come to find out, he had wound his chain around the post so tight he was choking himself to death and couldn't unwind himself. I had to take him off the chain and walk him for like 20-30 minutes for his eyes to go back to like a light pink. He's made a full recovery, but when I think of how close we came to losing him I shutter. I mean, we were going to Jadah's school carnival for like 3 hours, and wouldn't have gone back there until we got back to feed him. If Jadah had found him dead, I think that would have traumatized my sweet pea. But, thank God, he's back to his energetic mischievous self. Smile/happy

I should have twin baby girl cousins being born today!! Smile/happy

My cousin's wife is scheduled to have her c-section of her twins girls today. This is so special for them(and us) cause they've tried for years, she even almost died with one of her miscarriages. They spent a lot of money to aritificially impregnate her to no avail. My cousin is like the perfect candidate for fathership(for lack of a better phrase). He always knew he wanted a big family. Then last fall we found out she was pregnant with twins. She almost had them too early a couple months ago, but complete bedrest and weekly progesterone shots have carried her full term. Smile/happy

I will update when I know something.

Hey ladies!
Hope you all are off to a good Monday!
We had a busy weekend! Saturday morning I took Owen to his very first birthday party. My friend's little girl turned one and we had a good time but it was a LONG day. When I got home I had to quickly get ready to go out!!!! My DH and I and some friends drove to Vicksburg to go to the casino and hear the band Live perform and then we gambled a little. (we basically made enough to cover the cost of our drinks at the concert!) It was fun but we were gone a really long time! I had never left Owen that long with anyone other than my DH!
We spent Sunday trying to recover! Smile/happy

Owen and I are getting ready to head out to the farmer's market for some fresh veggies! I love this time of year! I've been craving summer squash!!!!!

Cherry - can't wait to hear about the babies! I'm so glad your dog is ok too!!!!!!

ittle update, but not much to add---

She's now in the back being prepped for the c-section since noon CST. So, I don't know how long it takes to prep and then deliver them, but it can't be too much later now. One of my cousins is going to call me and let me know when she knows. Smile/happy

LMAO. I'm so sorry. I should have mentioned that I put them up in the picture thread. I feel mighty dumb right now too.

Another subject, I am so mad at my mom right now. I told her something and said for NOT to say anything. Well, she blabbed about it to my brother and sister and who knows else, and my messy cousin overheard her. And sent me a message on myspace about it. My mom does not do well when put on the spot. I'm like so pissed, I could punch something. But, the whole situation is dumb and pointless on the surface, it's the principle of it that has me mad.

Story:
My sister lives with us cause she sucked so bad in Louisiana-stealing, lying, sneaking out, bad grades, etc. Well, after my flew back to LA from bringing her here, my sister reveals that she has a camera that she got for a Xmas present from a boy back home. I knew she was lying the minute she told me where she got it. A)I'm not a dummy B)not too many boys will give a girl who he 1)not serious with 2)not sleeping with 3)girl period, a Kodak digital camera. C)the camera does not look new enough for Kodak. So, whatever. I let it go cause I knew I didn't have proof, and well, frankly, she got away with from LA with the theft, if there is one(more than likely). Well, fast forward a few months to May, and my mom and I are talking on the phone about Candace's progress, and I happen to mention the camera. Oops! What camera my mom wants to know. So, I spill the beans since I've put my foot in my mouth. I told her not to say anything cause well, there is no proof. She said ok. But, that wasn't the end of it. I just checked my myspace page and my messy cousin sends me a nice message about this camera. What color and what megapixel is it? I immediately call my mom, cause I'm like WTF. She wasnt' suppose to say anything. She goes around in circles about how my cousin must have overheard her asking for prayers for my sister, blah, blah, blah. I was like , but I told you not to say anything in the first place. The bottom line is, if my mom hadn't opened her big a@@ mouth, no one could have overheard her say anything. Now, I don't trust that things I say to her stay in confidence. I feel like she picks and chooses what she keeps between her and I. OK, rant over, but I'm still pissed. I know that I have to call later and apologize to her for hanging up in her face(she's still my mom. Ashamed

hey i just wanted to post cause im so excited for her, my sister in cali FINALLY got approved for her surgery!!! it took THIS FREAKIN LONG! omg ive felt so bad for her! but now that its approved, they got her in super fast! so shes scheduled to get her actual surgery a week from friday! omg a week from tomorrow! i hope it goes well. im just so happy that she can get off all these pain pills and try and live a normal life again.

oh, and charles has got someone interested in buying his car! YAY!! ill be sooooo glad to see that stupid POS gone lol!

only other new thing with me is that im covered in either poison oak or ivy and im miserable. its all over my face, on my eyelids, in my ears, then on my arms and legs and all. its awful. i have a dr appt today at 2:00 to make sure it really is poison ivy or oak and to see what the dr can do to make sure it doesnt get in my eyes and mouth cause that would surely land me in the hospital, not only am i preggers, but im allergic to it and it spreads all over me like wildfire.

mscherry, I hope things are okay now with your mom - I can see why you were frustrated.

I wanted to make sure you all knew that I am leaving tomorrow and won't be home until late on August 8. I'll probably be able to get online a bit while I'm away, but I don't know how much, so if you don't hear anything that's why! I'll likely be able to get on facebook a bit more often, so if anything, many of you can see me there.

The first 2 weeks we'll be in Toronto with my husband's family, who are throwing me a baby shower this Saturday!! So thoughtful of them. Toronto is about a 4-hour flight away so we don't see them often and won't see them again til after the baby comes. Toronto is also very hot & humid most of the time in the summer, AND the city is on a garbage strike right now. Great. We also have a wedding to go to while we're there, one of DH's cousins who he grew up being really close to. They have an adorable 1-year-old who we will get to baby-sit overnight on the wedding night Smile/happy

The second 2 weeks just DH and I are going to the Canadian maritimes - Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia & New Brunswick. I've never been there but it's supposed to be gorgeous and we have some cool places booked. A really nice hotel for a couple nights in Halifax, a private cottage for 3 nights on the coast of Cape Breton and another cottage in PEI, plus a handful of B&B's along the way. I am REALLY excited for a relaxing vacation with DH!!!!

I have updates from my doctor's today but I'll post that in pregnancy since i have rambled on enough Tongue

Nika, what's your sister's surgery for? If you said, I missed it or have forgetton.

Poison Ivy SUCKS! I'm pretty allergic to it too and end up going to the emergency clinic for a shot and pills....except it's prednisone and I'm not sure how "safe" that is for pregnancy. Good ol' Caladryl lotion helps dry it up. I like the Hot Water treatment too -- run the shower/bath water as hot as you can stand it and put the poison ivy area under the running water for as long as you can take it. It's like sweet torture and will itch like crazy...but the feeling disappears quickly and it won't itch for hours. Others claim icing it works better, but the hot water works for me. Once it dries up, Gold Bond Medicated Lotion worked well for me later to help heal the skin and reduce the itching.

beth, you probably forgot cause i posted sooo long ago, but the insurance company has drawn the process out as long as they can, its for her back. she has a ruptured and herniated disc in her lower neck/upper back and it happened at work, so shes been out of work and the workers comp people have been AWFUL to deal with, but she now got her surgery approved and scheduled! its still going to be a long hard recovery, but at least now she can try to recover instead of just staying high on pain pills in order to fight the pain. all this happened way back before i went to cali to visit, and thats what promped the visit on such short notice. none of us realised that it was going to take months to get the surgery!!!

and i went to the dr, turns out what i have on my arm is poison ivy and what i have on my face is an allergic reaction to something else, but we dont know what!! argh!! i havent tried any new foods, soaps, detergents, clothes, anything! i cant for the life of me think of what i would be reacting to and just on my face?!??! my dr told me to take claritin 10 mg a day for a week and see if it helps at all, and if it doesnt help to call and she will give me prednisone. the only reason she didnt just do that was because while it is safe during pregnancy, its a steroid and will help the baby put weight on, and ive already had one round due to my asthma, and god only knows if the asthma will act up again meaning i will need more. so she said that while she will give it to me for this she would rather exhaust our other options first just so that we can save the steroids for later use if need be without my baby getting massive lol. shes already on the bigger side Wink

but she said that if it gets any worse or my face swells up to call immediately and she will get me something to take care of it. but seriously, this is miserable lol, my whole face is all itchy and my eyes burn Cry

and what are the odds of having an allergic reaction to god knows what on my face, and getting poison ivy on my arm at the exact same time?!?! oye. lol

It's been too long and we are all neglecting this a little!LOL

So,my questions for you all are;
'what are you doing for Christmas,what with the economy,are any of you making gifts this xmas,I know we have some talented ladies here.

How are situations with your famlies,I know several of us have had issues in the past and still with the whole 'family' thing.

Are you all still working? Are you planning to if you're not

are you doing anything creative 'writing .singing,painting,making....anything... let us know

I know some of you are or will be moving soon....tell us more ( I know about Georgis coz she posted) but I think Tiff has just found a house would love to know more and maybe see some pics?

Any new pets? I know you all have been holding out on me so get sharing! Tongue

I dont think I will be making any present this yeafr except perhaps some photos/portraits etc...otherwise I have seen soem really nice stuff in CVS ($10-$20 range) like milkshake makers (for hubby) smokeless ashtrays for MIL LOL),also barnes anoble have sales on games,books and all kind of really cute and cool things! Are you planning to if you're not, My immigration papers are coming on,we're just trying to get documents together and things but almost there,I think by late spring/early summer I should be able to work/travel etc...strictly speaking I should get my work permit within a couple of months! I plan to keep writing /singing at home but find something between now and then which brings in a little income,preferably from home but if not I would love to get any kind of job,maybe at barnes and noble,something like that,just to bring in some cash,have a bank account and build some credit! Things are moving forawrd and upward despite the few setbacks we have had!

OK,
I'll post an update on my life and family.

We are moving back to Louisiana in February. DF is not too thrilled, but I can't stay in Idaho much longer, it's driving me nuts being away from my family. Neither of us has jobs lined up, which has DF pulling at his nonexistent hair. I think we'll have an easier time landing jobs once we get there. My mom has offered to let us stay there for as long as we need to. I am planning on getting a teaching job there, and he'll probably do law enforcement.

My exhusband finally agreed on the latest proposal that me and the mediator came up with at my last session. He'll get every Thanksgiving, we'll split the Xmas break(rotating who gets Xmas), the first couple summers he'll get Jadah for 2-2 week visits, then up it to 2-3 week visits, then by the time she's 12, a full 6 week visit. I think Jadah can do this schedule, cause she'll be able to come home in between his visits. Also, he has to enroll her in competitive gymnastics for the time she's there. He doesn't know we're moving back to LA. Once everything is finalized with the custody/visitation, and we know exactly when we're going and some more concrete information on jobs and stuff, that's when I'll tell him. Once the shock wears off, he'll realize that it's better for him(and me) being closer. Having to come out of pocket for that many plane tickets in a year for her visitation would suck.

Pregnancy is progressing fine.

I still hate my job.

We still have Neka, our puggle, no new pet additions.

Xmas will be a light affair this year since we're moving in 3 months. Though with Jadah's light wish list, we should be able to get everything on it. Jayden won't be getting much since she just had a nice birthday. Jadah's birthday is coming up on Wednesday. We got her a 12' trampoline that she(and Jayden) LOVES!!

We don't usually buy gifts for any other family members except our moms. But, I am going to buy for my niece, step niece, and fake niece(me and my friend have kids by brothers, but aren't with the brothers!!)

And that's my life in a nutshell!!

Angel, what's your book about? I'm wanna hear!

I'll kinda lump stuff together here for my responses.....I don't really anticipate us doing much different for Christmas. I put money in a Christmas Club account every week so that is the bulk of my Christmas spending money. Hubby needs to start giving me money for his family's gifts though. I have made some necklaces for our two older nieces, hubby's sisters, my brother's wife, and my administrative support person here at work. So yes, I did get creative!

Job is fine. Boss and I have actually had a very good year which has allowed me to get out of credit-card debt and pay off some money my husband loaned me. I of course hope our stream of good sales and big commissions holds up, but even if it slacks off I'll still have more available money since I'm not paying off debt. My husband is laid off though as of Oct. 30th. Too early in the work season for that. We like him to keep working until at least Thanksgiving, perferably 2nd week of December, weather permitting, as always. Mostly we need his work hours to pay for our health insurance. If he's short hours, we have to make up the difference.

Hubby talks his company into loaning him a bulldozer. Yeah, I don't know he managed that either! So for the past week he's been working at our other property with it, mostly building parts of our motocross (dirtbike!) track, but also knocking down some dead trees and digging up stumps. Part of land can get quite wet so he's hampered a bit there -- too muddy. Depending how long we get to keep the dozer, the house out there might get demolished this winter. Yay! Smile/happy

I'm planning on opening a "store" on artfire.com. I've been waiting on a bit of help, but I think one way or another, I'm getting the first jewelry pieces listed this weekend. I'm anxious to move forward with it...particularly since the holiday shopping season will be starting soon.
