Sorry been MIA, we went away for the weekend, whichwas nice, but i have been having cramping and lower back pains ( like period pains) since sunday they come and go and are quite bad at times. also have radiating leg and somtimes groin pain, which i had efore my bleeds this pregnancy. It is very scary, however i can feel and still hear baby heart beat which is wonderful. I have a hosptial app today so will be telling them. its been quite a few days now and i dont think its stretching pains as they feel fully like af is coming. Im sure all is fine, i just wish they would go away

hope everyone is doing well

Post  mscherry42 Wed Oct 28, 2009 8:07 pm

I am better everyone. Thanks for the kind thoughts. I still have a bad cough and I still get weak without much effort(some of it could be preggo related too). Now Jayden is acting like she wants to get sick AGAIN!! She's the one who got me sick. Her nose is just really runny, but now it's thicker. I'll watch it of course. I just feel like I'm getting bigger by the freaking day. DF bought me this really cute(non maternity) hot pink and black sweater that has a big belt to go with it. I tried it on and it fit too close. He's taking it back for a larger size, but it really shows off the bump. When I get it back again, I'll take a pic and post if for my recent bump pic.

Sparkles,
I hope all is well with baby. Glad you can hear the heart beat as that gives comfort in a moment of unknown. Take care!!

PREGNANCY CHAT - All stages welcome!! - Page 27 Empty Re: PREGNANCY CHAT - All stages welcome!!

Post  sapphire Tue Nov 03, 2009 10:29 pm

sorry I've been away for awhile, I've been really stressed out lately with everything going on and having trouble keeping up with it all. I think of you ladies often.

Sparkles, I hope you are okay and your appt went well and that the pains are nothing to worry about.

Georgi, I haven't seen the post Angel is referring to but I really hope you are okay!!

Mscherry, I hope you're getting better! tamiflu should make the flu last a shorter amount of time and not be as severe, so fingers crossed it works for you. I'm in a similar situation:

Things have been a bit exciting here, but not in such a great way. DH got sick yesterday, he very quickly came down with a cough and fever late afternoon/evening. As soon as we realized he was getting something, I left to stay with my parents. We do know a few friends who have had H1N1 - we weren't in real close contact with them before, but something is going around in our circles. Anyway. My parents wanted me to stay with them, as did DH, just in case I could escape whatever he has. So I was there last night, went to work today and had a slight headache. I get to work and find out my boss came down with the flu last night and is home and already on tamiflu due to her asthma. And another coworker is also home today feeling under the weather. My headache continues and then I start feeling really weak, which apparently is exactly how my boss' illness began. I phoned my OB and explained everything to the nurse, she spoke with my OB and called me back. They put me on tamiflu both as a precaution and also to treat whatever I may have picked up. I had to cancel everything at work for the week and go home, which I did.

The whole thing is scary and of course I'm most scared for the baby. So far I'm still okay - no fever, just a headache and really weak - but even taking tamiflu scares me even though I know the risks of flu complications are way worse than any risks of tamiflu. The whole situation is just scary, I cried a bit before taking the first pill just because I couldn't believe this was all happening. DH and I managed to get the H1N1 vaccine on Saturday even (no small feat right now in my province), but it takes 14 days to build immunity so it's not helping us now. They're not testing people for H1N1 unless there's serious complications, so we'll never know for sure what's going on.

sorry for the novel. I just wanted to let you know! i'll either be MIA for awhile, or maybe I'll be on all the time if I'm home sick and feel up to it, we'll see!

Post  Georgi Wed Nov 04, 2009 4:44 am

Oh Sapphire I am so sorry I do understand where you are coming from with taking anything during pregnancy it's amazing how protective you feel over your unborn baby isn't it! I really hope that it's just simply a cold you have picked up however they have acted fast and I am certain you'll be ok as will the baby so please don't start worrying yourself about it (I know you will anyway!! Wink ) Other than this drama it's amazing to think you only have 6 weeks left shock that is shocking Sapphire.....are you excited? anxious? got everything ready? Have you packed your hospital bag as yet? I don't even know what your birth plan is? I would genuinely REALLY love to hear an update purely about YOU!! {{hugs}} I hope you feel much better soon babe!

Sparkles - Like I said in the 'bump' thread your pregnancy is wizzing by, only a matter of 1.5 wks until you find out the babies sex, have you got a feeling at all?? Have you bought anything for the new baby?

Emma - How are you sweetheart? When is your next scan, I assume it must be pretty darn soon as you and sparkles are close together!

Nikki - How are you feeling? I know it's early days but are you experiencing any symptoms/sickness??

Mscherry - Feeling better now hun I see...that's great news! I think I have missed your latest bump pic so I will go back and scroll through the posts, I bet you look gorgeous as usual.

Mommabear - Haven't heard from you in a while.....what's the latest on you?

I think that is everyone Smile/happy It's been so quiet on here recently it would be nice to keep this thread active, I love hearing all the updates on you girls so please get posting!! Before we know it we will be busy with Christmas preperations...eek!!

AFM - No more cramps, no more trips to L&D Smile/happy and no more spotting, well at least I have gone nearly 2 whole weeks without any signs of pink!! My cervix must be highly sensitive this time around? Finally started feeling baby hiccup over the last couple of weeks Smile/happy such a lovely feeling but it's ever so faint. I have been feeling some major grinding on my cervix, it almost makes me feel like I have to pee but so far I haven't lost control LOL lol I know that she is head down BTW so I guess it's her head moving around that causes the weird sensation, sometimes it actually hurts!

For those of you who don't know, we have to move yet again Cry the landlord wants to move back in. Our tenancy ends Feb 24th which isn't ideal but not as bad as I originally thought, I thought it was end of January. We have asked if it would be possible for us to leave earlier and not suffer any financial penalty but we are yet to hear whether this is a possilbility, the annoying thing is I found 3 houses that all looked rather good and they are all now let with-in just a few days so it seems that houses aren't staying around for long especially 3 bed. I REALLY hope we find somewhere that is suitable and we can stay for a long time as I am dam sure I don't want to move again in a years time...so sick of moving now!!!!

Post  galaxy Thu Nov 05, 2009 3:50 pm

Glad you have had no more trips to L&D Georgi! I hope baby stays put especially as you now have a house move on our hands, that's stressful enough as it is. I am not too bad still off sick from work and received a letter today asking me to attend a formal meeting which I have already been told is to discuss possible dismissal on health grounds. The sick time is all pregnany related and I'm all for taking them to the cleaners for sex discrimination. When I get a little more time I will post the whole story and what's going on, but I'm not going without a fight. My scan in on the 17th and at the moment we don't think we will find out the gender this time, but that may change according to how I feel on the day! Keeping up with my accupuncture and I have had a specialist midwife contact me who is doing a VBAC project, basically facilitationg them to increases people's chances of them being succesful. I feel very hopeful now and feel really well supported this time around but I'm still going to counselling re my experiences last time around and issues I have beause of that and the pnd that I had. It was quite bad and I'm a bit scared of it happening again.
Sparkles, when is your scan, I can't wait to find out what you are having!

Galaxy, do keep us posted about your meeting at work, I hope everything works out okay for you. That's terrible that they would consider dismissing you for health reasons - I didn't even think that was legal?! Really hope you will be okay, and glad to hear you'll be sticking up for yourself and fighting for it! Great news about the midwife and the better chances for a VBAC too, that's fantastic.

Thanks Georgi, it's great to hear from you and I too would like to see this thread be active (though I've been the worst for disappearing and not posting often! Ashamed ). I'm so glad to hear you've been well and haven't had any more spotting as of late, and particularly no more trips to L&D!! I can't believe you're over the 30 week mark yourself, this seems to have gone very quickly for you even though we're just 4 weeks apart and of course have been the whole time!

We are feeling okay, not great yet but finally starting to feel a bit better. I definitely avoided the worst of it thanks to the tamiflu, but I've still been unable to do anything all week and am just finally getting a bit of an appetite back. I am worried whether or not I've made the best decisions for the baby, but I have to remember that if I did get a serious flu without the medicine, that high fever and other complications would have been far more frightening.

Yes, less than 6 weeks left, it's crazy!! This pregnancy hasn't flown by exactly but I still can't believe how close it's actually getting. I am really excited to meet my baby girl and bring her home, even though we are totally NOT ready. We hardly have anything and the room isn't even close to being ready. Hopefully soon we'll be able to get organized. Honestly, it took so long for the whole pregnancy to sink in, and then for me to finally feel confident in this baby being okay, that I didn't even think about baby stuff until much later than most people. And then once I felt more ready to get stuff together, I started sleeping even worse and feeling much more stressed out by all the demands of work and everything else, and that's just gotten worse, so I haven't had the time or energy to do much. Now it's getting down to the wire I don't have a choice! Thankfully my mind has shut off this week while I've been sick, so I've just been resting, but I know once I get back into the swing of things this week I will be seriously stressed out with all of this, plus catching up on all I missed this past week. shock

I don't have a specific birth plan but have been thinking about it a lot, and have done a bit of reading. I would really like to go with only gas & air as long as I can manage. I really want to try to use many different birthing positions, or the shower, etc, and I know with an epidural many of those are no longer an option. At the same time, though, I don't want to set myself up for disappointment or feeling like a failure if I do choose an epidural at some point, so I don't want to say I am definitely going for a drug-free birth. I'm open to all the options and trying to keep that open mind.

Whew, how's that for an update all about me?!

Post  Gutter Sat Nov 07, 2009 9:59 pm

Sapphire,
OH my goodness hun, a drug free birth experience huh???!!! Please don't feel like any failure if you end up getting the epidural. Actually I was told that if you can't handle the pain, you should get the epidural to give your body a rest, the epidural is your friend when you are in labour. I went to 8 cm's with jasper and by the time the Oxytocin kicked in, I was in soooo my pain it was nearly impossible for me to get the epidural. From the time I screamed to have the epidural to the time it was placed was such a blur, feel like I messed up my birth experience by waiting too long. I used gas and was phasing in and out when I was only suppose to use it during contractions, but the gas did not help. Not trying to scare you, but it is possible to go all natural, depends on everyones pain tolerance. Also don't worry about not being ready for baby. Nobody is ever 100% ready and just remember that your baby will probably be in your room for the first few months of her life, so she doesn't really need a fully done up room Smile/happy I cannot wait to see that baby girl of yours, I'm sooo happy and excited for you and you DH!!!! I totally get how you feel about your pregnancy since I felt the same with Audrey. It took me 6 months after her birth to actually realize that I had a daughter. Anyways good luck in the weeks to come sweetie!!!

Post  mscherry42 Sun Nov 08, 2009 8:51 am

Wow, Georgi and Sapphire, you don't have long now(compared to me I guess).

Georgi, glad things have settled down for you.

Sapphire,
Like Gutter said, no matter what pain med/pain free method you choose for your delivery, you will be proud of yourself. Let's face it, it freaking hurts! If you're able to endure five minutes of that crap without drugs, you've done great. I am petrified of the needle for the epidural(or was), but had to have it when I got my emergency cerclage, although they used a smaller needle to numb me first or something. So, I know that I can get through it, but the thought of it gives me freaking chills. So, I know that I will have to be dying of pain in order for me to get it, but would if I couldn't take it.

I can't wait to see your little princesses soon!!

Good luck to the rest of us preggo ladies during the rest of our journey!!

AFM,
I spotted brigth red the other day after DTD with DF, but it went immediately away right after. It was weird. I was waiting to see if it returned before calling the doctor, but it never did. So, I don't know what the hell we did, but he is willfully cut off until after my dr appt this thursday. lol My nausea is pretty much gone, unless I wait too long to eat, or eat something that I knew I shouldn't. But, knock on wood, I haven't thrown up yet. I don't know when my gender scan is yet. I go in on Thurs for a normal appt and ultrascreen test(for baby, whatever it is). I think they're going to schedule an ultrasound a couple weeks after this appt. I am not holding my breath to find out the sex at 14 weeks, but it would be nice. Otherwise, they might do another at 18 weeks, or wait until 22, but I would rather it be at 18 weeks since that would be right before Xmas. I would love to give DF an early Xmas present(hopefully boy). My pregnant brain is in full swing this pregnancy. I've never forgotten so much stuff in previous pregnancies like I am with this one. I am great with covering all bases and thinking through all decisions. But, lately, my brain is malfunctioning. I took my sister on an emotional roller coaster of first she would only go to LA for a quick visit, then I told her she was staying there when she went, but then realized that I wouldn't have a sitter in the mornings for Jadah from 4:45am until 7am, and on Sundays, would have no one for either Jadah or Jayden. Something that important, I can't figure out how the hell I missed those details. So after much crying and pleading to not have to stay in LA, she finally accepted it and got excited, then I had to tell her that "oh, my bad, you ARE coming back." Then more tears and pleading to let her stay there. It was a horrible two weeks let me tell ya.
I have been working out. The other night I rode the stationary bike for 40 minutes, then did a few reps of leg exercises. I feel good about doing something besides eating(although I don't gorge myself) all the time. OK, enough of an update on me.

PREGNANCY CHAT - All stages welcome!! - Page 27 Empty Re: PREGNANCY CHAT - All stages welcome!!

Post  Georgi Sun Nov 08, 2009 12:44 pm

Emma - They are totally taking the piss! excuse the language but seriously they can't surely do that?? Your sickness is pregnancy related the most natural normal thing a woman can experience....the whole situation sound's crazy to me.

On a better note I am pleased that you finally feel like you have some support re: your choice for going for a VBAC, it makes such a difference to have simular minded people supporting you. I will look forward to hearing about any appointments etc...you have to discuss VBAC's.

Sapphire - Everything will fall into place just you wait and see!! I thought I had thing's really organised, well to be fair I did but now with a house move likely mid-december it's gunna shake thing's up again and make me feel totally dis-organised. We will also be sorting babies room out with just weeks to go.

So your still not sleeping huh?? HUGS I have had the odd night here and there and it does get you down, a lack of sleep makes everything 10 times harder to deal with. When do you finish work? Is there any possilbility you could finish slightly earlier??

Your birth plan sound's very simular to mine Smile/happy I am really hoping to use the birthing pool if it's available and cope for as long as I can with just gas & air, I have been reading my Hypno-birthing book again and practising breathing & visualisation tecniques, I am also going to buy a book called Ina May's Guide to Child Birth which is all about natural birth experiences. I know only too well that birth plans don't always goes to plan, so it's important to maintain an open mind Smile/happy something I will certainly do!! If I end up screaming for every drug going LOL! so what I tired!

Sparkles - I must re-read your birth story!! It would be wonderful if you are having a boy Smile/happy but 2 girls would be wonderful, I always said that if we had 2 boys we would try again and if we had 2 girls that would be it! Of course DH didn't agree much with my thought process....but I knew I held the ace card!! Wink

As I have said in the 'bump' thread I am very excited to hear the results from your 20 week scan!

Mscherry - That must have been very alarming to see red blood, totally know how you would have felt! It always looks more than it actually is aswell! It's really good that you haven't been sick in a while, I hope this means it's over with now!

Ok ladies running out of time.....wanted to say more but keep forgetting what I wanted to say! x x x

Oh no!! How many weeks are you now honey?? And out of interest if you weren't pregnant when would your period have been due, sometimes women get bleeding and cramping around the same time as a period would have made an appearance. I really hope everything is alright sweetie {{hugs}} x x

Just got back from dr appt. Dr was not able to detect a heartbeat on doppler thing, so arranged an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech was out sick, so my dr and another dr tried to fumble through it. They were able to find the baby, but the baby is measuring only 6 weeks. And they didn't see a heartbeat, although they couldn't figure out how to find and measure heartbeat. So, according to them, the baby is dead, and my body should expel it in 1-2 weeks. I am going back on Thursday so the ultrasound tech can confirm/disprove what they said today. I am crushed and hurt and sad and everything negative right now. What's to say? Nothing. I don't want any sympathy, not right now. I am borderline pissed. At what? EVERYTHING!! But, it's an irrational feeling that will give way to great pain in a few, then I'll suck it up and move forward. Have a blessed day.

Cherry, I am so sorry to hear this, it's a terrible shock to suddenly hear that kind of news. I think you're right that the sadness will come later, for now just feel whatever you need to feel. Goodness knows you're entitled to be pissed right now! I'll be thinking of you and feel free to PM me if you ever want to talk or vent ((((((hugs)))))))

Will reply to rest of you later when I have more time, sorry to run xoxo.
